Norqain speaks our language with new bronze and green Adventure Sport 42mm

I may not be an Aussie myself, but green and gold tones definitely get the T+T HQ going. Norqain recently moved upmarket with their Wild One collection, but that does not mean they are abandoning their positioning at lower price points as well. The new Norqain Adventure Sport 42mm Bronze Khaki Dial is a handsome and robust adventure watch that you can purchase for under $3,000 USD.

The Adventure Sport 42mm case is probably the most familiar case format from the brand and where it all began when Norqain founded in 2018. That being said, the new Norqain Adventure Sport 42mm Bronze Khaki Dial marks the first time bronze has been used as a case metal within the collection. Clocking in at 42mm in diameter, 12.65mm thick, and 50.2mm lug-to-lug across the wrist, it will suit average wrist sizes worldwide. And with 100m of screw-down crown secured water-resistance, the watch lives up to its Adventure Sport name. The crown, circularly brushed uni-directional timing bezel, and brushed upper case with polished bevels are all bronze. But, the exhibition caseback is made of stainless steel with a bronze PVD coating. And, as always, at the 9 o’clock side of the case, their signature engraveable placard is at your disposal for personalisation.

The “special Norqain pattern” adds depth and intrigue to the khaki dial through the dynamic shadowing it creates, patches of brighter and darker expressions of the colour coming through depending on the angle. Matching the case, the applied Norqain logo at 12′ is executed in bronze – with the central hands and applied indices following suit in a tonal match. Each of the hands and indices are filled with beige SuperLuminova, including the red-tipped arrow central seconds hand that matches the “Automatic” text at 6′. Normally watches that use a Sellita-based calibre would leave the date disc in its original format, but I really appreciate that Norqain went to the lengths of producing a colour-matching disc that utilises a green backdrop with beige numerals to synch with both the dial and the hands, indices, and hashes.

Befitting of an Adventure Sport watch, it comes on a vegan-certified khaki green rubber strap to match the dial. The rubber strap, which has a visually intriguing textured central channel is secured via a pin/buckle closure. Inside the watch ticks the automatic Norqain calibre NN08 (SW 200-1) which offers 38 hours of robust timekeeping. While not a glamorous calibre, it keeps performance high and pricing lower.
