One of the most beautiful things about collecting watches is the journey. The ups, downs and everything in between make this hobby that much more interesting and fun. That’s why any time I bump into a fellow collector, I always sit down and enjoy stories about the road they’ve travelled and the details behind the watches on their wrist. It’s this fascination that led me to an Instagram page with some great watch storytelling called @TimePeaceLove

@TimePeaceLove is the Instagram handle of a gentleman by the name of Jeremy Caparas. I first found out about Jeremy through a friendly Instagram chat room for those addicted to all things horology. (Think of it as the anti anti-enablers club. If you didn’t want to spend more money on watches, this was the last place you’d want to be.) While in the chat, Jeremy would share a bit about himself yet it wasn’t until the amazing platform of Clubhouse hit the scene that I began to learn more about Jeremy and his watch story.

For Jeremy, everything really starts with the Rolex Gold Yacht-Master 16628 pictured above. As a child, for years he would admire this watch on his father’s wrist in hopes of one day wearing it on his. This dream of his finally came true when his father handed the watch down to him sometime ago. The importance of this piece and what it means to him are palpable in any post featuring the watch.

As time passed by, Jeremy added a few more watches to his collection. He has a sapphire sandwich Omega Speedmaster that he’ll post for #speedytuesday as well as a robust Panerai Pam422 that he occasionally pairs with some interesting straps. However, beyond just posting shots of these watches, what I’ve always found interesting about his page is the stories within his post. There are references to his father, his wife and his experiences as a collector. It’s that authentic storytelling most of us can relate to. With it, he is able to take you along on his journey.

Jeremy’s storytelling and the overall positivity of his Instagram page has led to some pretty decent growth on the platform. It has also allowed him to spread his ideas on watches and watch collecting. Recently, he even took the step of releasing a shirt bearing his credo “Timepieces Don’t Just Tell Time, They capture it.” to great fanfare from the community. As he continues to grow with his authenticity and passion for collecting, @TimePeaceLove is definitely someone worth your follow.
