“Hi, I’m Andrew and your suspicion is right, this IS the Speedmaster font.”

Andrew started Time+Tide in 2014 as a side-hustle when his brother in law, a dreadlocked internet speculator, told him that there were no coffee machine or watch review sites to speak of in Australia. Andrew was the Watch Editor of GQ at the time, so he thought, fuck it, why not. He paid five grand for a logo (this still seems like a lot to him, but hey, it’s a good logo), got same brother in law to build a website. Then things got weird. He decided to launch the website at Baselworld, by handing around a printed newspaper. Andrew has survived this and many other marketing misfires, to run a global team of champions. He’s had lots of pinch yourself moments since the beginning, but his biggest will be in October this year. He can’t talk about that yet.

First watch: Panerai Luminor PAM 111- “I wish I’d kept it.”

Favourite watch: Omega Ranchero from 1959 – “This watch is a failure, which is why I love it.”

Finale watch: Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167a on a khaki strap – “You will be mine.”
