BREAKING NEWS: What would you ask the head of Omega, Mr Stephen Urquhart?

Omega is a giant in the watch industry and the jewel in the Swatch Group’s crown. The luxury brand is the complete package: with a long and legitimate Swiss heritage, a collection that appeals to hardcore watch fans and general consumers alike and a combination of celebrity endorsements, big ticket events and iconic models that stir the collective imagination. An Omega watch is just plain desirable, for any and all of these reasons, and thanks to well marketed developments like the Co-Axial escapement, its technical mastery is unquestioned.

Case in point – the latest DLG World Watch Report has found that Omega is the market leader in China, and offers the two most popular models in the Chinese market, the De Ville and the Constellation. While playing the mainstream hits they’ve simultaneously managed to successfully revamp some of their heritage classics, in the Mark II Speedmaster, Seamaster 300 and the Bullhead models. And they’re sensible enough not to mess with the core of their brand since 1969. Remarkably, the Omega Speedmaster Professional is essentially the same watch as the one Buzz wore on the moon.

 

Time+Tide is lucky enough to be sitting down with Mr Stephen Urquhart, President of Omega for an hour tomorrow. We have a whole list of questions we’re planning on asking (and not all of them are about any spare Dark Side of the Moon models he might have lying around), but we wanted to give our community of readers and fans a chance to ask Mr Urquhart their own questions.
