Now as a tribute to this figure of ice-cold magnificence, comes the Bamford x Revolution GMT Joe Cool.
George Bamford has a soft spot for cartoon characters as demonstrated by his Bamford London GMT Popeye Limited Edition from earlier this year. But Snoopy clearly occupies a special place in his affections. He first incorporated the legendary Peanuts character into his Bamford GMT watch last year and uses the same model for this collaborative timepiece.
The cushion-shaped, stainless-steel case of the watch is a sporty 4omm in diameter yet slender for the category at 11.7mm thick. Armed with a push-down crown, the watch is 100 metres water-resistant making it a versatile travel companion – while its GMT complication is ready for take-off when the international borders finally re-open.
Taking pride of place on the matte white dial is Snoopy’s alter ego “Joe Cool”. The beagle’s arms and paws are utilized as the hours and minutes hands, while his faithful sidekick Woodstock serves as the tip of the black GMT hand. Framing the dial is the inner rotating 24 hour GMT bezel that can be controlled via a second crown at the 10′ position. Adjacent to the shortened third hour marker is a date aperture that reveals a black on white date disc that matches well with the overall aesthetic.
When it comes to night-time legibility, this watch certainly has you covered, too. The inner rotating bezel, hands, hour markers, and Snoopy “Joe Cool” figure is slathered in green lume.
