Buffy AcaciaI’m not sure if it’s just what my eyes have become attuned to, but it really feels as though Vacheron Constantin has been earning the top spot among the Holy Trinity of Swiss watchmaking lately. They may not have the same level of hype around their releases, however that has led to an even stronger fanbase of enthusiast fans. Its releases for Watches and Wonders 2024 haven’t stuck to any overarching theme in particular, but it has expanded some of their key collections with some thoughtful and timely references. Let’s get into them.
Les Cabinotiers Berkley Grand Complication
- Commissioned by the same client that purchased the reference 57260, the Berkley Grand Complication becomes the most complicated watch in the world.
- It also brings a world-first complication, the Chinese perpetual calendar and Chinese agricultural perpetual calendar

Patrimony 20th Anniversary collection
- 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the Patrimony, and Vacheron Constantin is celebrating with three new references in an Old Silver colour scheme.
- They each explore the topic of minimalism, even the Moon Phase Retrograde Date model.
- The time-only and complicated models are powered by the in-house calibres 1440 and 2460 R31L respectively, each granted the Hallmark of Geneva for exceptional quality.

- Four references cover standard models of 41mm and 35mm, the Dual Time, and the Chronograph.

- The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon may be a horological heavyweight, but it’s lightweight in a full titanium case and bracelet.
- Paired with a vibrant blue sunburst dial, a partially-sandblasted bezel also adds more of a casual flair to the finishing.
- It’s powered by the thin calibre 2160, taking the 42.5mm watch to 10.39mm in height.

- The new Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Chronograph belongs to the Collection Excellence Platine, which harbours some of the Maison’s most treasured watches in platinum cases.
- Even the dial is made from sandblasted platinum, and lays out a large tourbillon, 45-minute monopusher chronograph, and a power reserve indicator.
- The calibre 3200 boasts 65 hours of power reserve, an old-school 2.5Hz beat rate, and a Hallmark of Geneva like the majority of Vacheron Constantin watches.

- The Vacheron Constantin Grand Lady Kalla can technically be a wristwatch, but its modular design also allows it to be worn as a necklace.
- The Art Deco pieces are designed to be worn as a set, with an interchangeable ‘jewel element’ featuring a huge 2ct GIA-certified diamond taking the place of wherever the watch element is not.
- Laden with approximately 45.65ct of diamonds, plus Akoya pearls, onyx, and 18k white gold, both the bracelet and sautoir are dazzling jewellery pieces.

Égérie Yiqing Yin Moon Phase
- The latest Égérie Moon Phase was created alongside a concept watch, scent, and dress by fashion designer Yiqing Ying.
- With the dial guilloché resembling the pleats of a garment, the concept watch has its strap imbued with nano-capsules of the newly created scent that will release it as it rubs against the wearer’s skin.
- The limited-edition piece that is available for purchase takes inspiration from the concept piece, but takes on a more traditional look for easier everyday wear.
