Jamie Weiss2024 marked Norqain’s first time exhibiting at Watches and Wonders, and the upstart Swiss independent has introduced something special for the occasion: a new customisable take on their cult favourite Wild One model. Some Swiss watch brands have experimented with customisable watches before – Certina immediately springs to mind – but the new Norqain Wild One of 1, the brand says, has 3.5 million possible configurations, an unheard-of offering in the industry.

How does the Norqain Wild One of 1 work?
Almost every element of the Norqain Wild One of 1 can be customised:
- The case – customers can choose between an 18k 5N red gold or 18k white gold case top plate. All options have a titanium inner case.
- The movement – there’s the option of Norqain’s NN20/1 movement produced by Kenissi, or two skeletonised Sellita automatic movements, finished in either ruthenium or black ruthenium.
- The shock absorber – the central rubber shock absorber structure that forms the substance of the Wild One’s case can be customised, with a choice of 12 colours, ranging from subtle tones like black, sand and khaki to more out there options such as coral red, turquoise and gecko green.
- The dial and handset – 18 dial options are on offer: six skeletonised and 12 solid dial options, with seven different sets of hands to choose from (two options if you go with the Kenissi movement and five for the Sellita movements).
There’s more:
- The back plate – four options, each in coloured Norteq, Norqain’s proprietary shock-resistant carbon fibre composite.
- The side plate – the signature ‘NORQAIN’ plate that sits on the watch’s left flank can be optioned in 18k gold or white gold, or one of four Norteq colours. Customers can also choose to personalise it with an engraving of their choice.
- The strap – 12 colours are available for the animal cruelty-free rubber strap, and customers have the choice of case-matched gold or Norteq pin buckles.
- The case back – finally, there’s the option to print an outline image on the watch’s sapphire crystal caseback.
Norqain Wild One of 1 pricing & availability
The Norqain Wild One of 1 is available now, with customers able to customise their watches using an exclusive 3D configurator either online or in-person at one of Norqain’s global network of retailers. Norqain pledges that customers will receive their Wild One of 1s within three months of placing their order. Prices start from CHF 15,560.
