FRIDAY WIND DOWN: 27th November, 2015

Felix Scholz

Everyone seems to be giving thanks this week. Which is something we don’t want to miss out on, just because we’re in the other hemisphere and our flag lacks a few stars. As a group, we want to thank border security for protecting us from the terrifying dead mutant that is the Turducken. The mere thought has turned Felix from a vegetarian to a vegan. Shudder.

Individually, we each want to give thanks for the following things. Andrew: “Thank you new contributor Ben Zachariah for not making an ‘Orange is the new Black’ pun in his Bell & Ross BR 126 story. It’s the little things.” Katie: “Thank you TAG Heuer for Chris Hemsworth, though he is wearing too much shirt on the billboard. That is all.” Felix: “I’m thankful that the weather gods seem to have smiled on our day co-hosting the polo tomorrow.”

Have an excellent weekend, rain hail or shine and may we finish by giving thanks for you dear reader. **Prayer hands emoji**

What happened?

Change-ups, that’s what. It’s just been announced that Davide Cerrato, the man largely responsible for Tudor’s meteoric rise will be heading up Montblanc’s new ‘watch division’. Expect big things.

TAG Heuer have also announced they’re leaving long time (like 30 years) partners McLaren and are moving on to Red Bull. Sad news for F1 traditionalists, but Red Bull is a much better fit for TAG, who are strongly pushing into younger markets.

The week in numbers

Franck-Muller Sydney-1

1000: The number of guests Franck Muller could invite to a party, all wearing different Franck Muller watches. And the punch line? “There would only be two watches the same,” Mr Muller promises. That’s a party we wouldn’t want to miss.

500: The maximum number of road-bike riding, hipster spectacled creative types that can wear the Bell & Ross BR 126 Orange Carbon, the most liked watch of the week on Instagram.

6: Minutes it took us to work “hammer time” into our story about Thor, sorry, Chris Hemsworth becoming a TAG Heuer ambassador.

41: The size in millimetres of the feather-slight Diagono Magnesium.

1: The number of Melbourne tattooists that fell for a Heuer this week. The love is strong, they’re currently on a plane somewhere. Alone. Special.
