With Geneva Watch Days inching ever closer, more and more watches are being presented. As always, we chose only ten, with some amazing releases being left out. Considering the fair looming ever closer, we’re maybe just a touch worried, as the European summer holidays come to an end and GWD reach their peak. Either way, we hope our tastes match yours in this selection of ten – until next week!

MB&F HM9 Sapphire Vision

  • The MB&F HM9 Sapphire Vision initially came in four editions, each limited to only 5 pieces.
  • Two new HM9-SV models now join the collection, again each limited to 5 pieces.
  • One brings a blue PVD-coated movement into a white gold case, the other a green PVD-coated movement into a yellow gold case.

Grand Seiko SBGJ275 and SBGM253

  • The Grand Seiko SBGJ275 and SBGM253 celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 9S mechanical movement
  • The SBGJ275 from the Sport Collection depicts the cloudy sky above Mt. Iwate
  • The SBGM253 from the Elegance Collection takes a sophisticated approach with a blue sunburst dial

Zenith DEFY 21 Chroma II

  • Zenith’s colourful limited edition from last year has returned, this time in black ceramic too
  • The white variant now features a subtly different colour gradation
  • An El Primero movement and openworked dial provides plenty of visual drama

Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Maillechort

  • This marks the third montre de souscription from Monochrome
  • Monochrome aimed to design a “warm, discreet, and traditional” take on the Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force
  • This edition stands out with its usage of maillechort, or German silver, for the movement

Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon Rolls Royce

  • Vacheron Constantin’s Les Cabinotiers bespoke department has collaborated with Rolls-Royce on a luxurious dashboard clock piece unique
  • Styled after a dashboard-mounted gauge, it features a bi-axial tourbillon and double retrograde display
  • The car it was designed for, the Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail, is the world’s most expensive new car

La Petite Seconde Metropolis Louis Erard x The Horophile

  • Louis Erard and The Horophile take us back to a noire, Art Deco New York of the Roaring Twenties
  • Available in slate, brown and salmon, the three dials present Arabic numerals in a period-inspired font
  • The file-rouge of the inspiration continues also on the hands, clearly distinguished with their Empire State Building shape

BA111OD Chapter 6

  • Although marketed as a ladies’ watch, even eclectic gentlemen will find this 36 mm timepiece suitable
  • The notched bezel and the open-worked sunray dial were especially designed to make the watch shimmer under direct light
  • Available in five different dial colours and two case finishings, there are plenty of options to suit numerous tastes

  • The Dubai-based, vintage collectibles retailer Perpetuel is collaborating with Nivada Grenchen on a mechaquartz chronograph
  • With an olive green dial dotted with orange accents, it’s accompanied with both a stainless steel bracelet and a matching orange fabric strap
  • The classic proportions and the 10-bar resistance make it a perfect watch for everyday use

Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Skeleton Chronograph Yellow Gold

  • Bulgari surprises again with its ultra-thin tourbillon chronograph, this time in a precious metal iteration
  • The movement is visible thanks to the skeletonisation of the dial and highly contrasting yellow-gold hue of the counters and case
  • The real show-stopper is in the back, where the 3.5mm thick movement amazes with its intricacy and exceptional finishes

Mr Jones Enjoy the Ride

  • The London-based brand is famous for depicting time in unconventional ways, but this time sticks to somewhat traditional hands
  • The Ferris wheel spins as time passes and partially hides the hands behind, telling its wearer to live the moment, without caring about time
  • Powered by a Swiss automatic movement, you’ve got to keep moving to keep the Ferris wheel turning
