Last night Australia celebrated the arrival of the TAG Heuer Monaco V4 Phantom to our shores (we talked about it at length). Ok, to be honest a fairly large proportion of Australians were too busy watching Masterchef to realise that the latest version of one of the most technically impressive watches of the last decade was among us.

But a select few were lucky enough to be able to get up close and personal with not only the Phantom V4, but two of its less stealthy brothers were in attendance as well, and it wasn’t hard to know when the V4 was gently removed from its plinth, as it was always attended by a very polite scrum and an explosion of iPhone flashes.

The watch everyone was there to see.

But, while the V4 was the star of the show the rest of the TAG lineup wasn’t neglected – for many it was also a perfect opportunity to get their hands on their favourite Monaco or Carrera, a process made even more pleasant by the steady flow of champagne.

Time+Tide was privileged to be able to invite some guests along, and they soon dialled the watch talk up to 11 discussing the finer points of linear weights and steel reinforced rubber belts. But, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words so I’ll leave it to the gallery to do the talking. Thanks to the team at TAG Heuer for a great evening.
