BezelHold’s Hat-Trick Marine Camouflage is an antidote to boring (and subpar) watch rolls

Watch rolls are an invaluable travel accessory for any watch lover – but most watch rolls are, safe to say, pretty boring. Watches are a potent expression of their wearers’ personalities and tastes – so why don’t we take the same approach to our watch rolls?

Top watch accessories brand BezelHold has you covered. Best known for their watch winders and safes, BezelHold also knows how to make a watch roll that protects your timepieces and lets you express yourself all at once: case in point, their Hat-Trick watch roll in marine camouflage.

This Hat-Trick’s marine camouflage colourway stands out while also blending in – cue all the jokes about not being able to see it because it’s camo. Actually, it reminds me of the blue Multicam that the Royal Australian Air Force wears, so if you’ve got a few pilot’s watches in your collection, this might be the ideal watch roll for you. I reckon it would also suit blue-dialled watches or even dive watches.

Other variants of the Hat-Trick utilised granulated leather, but this marine camouflage model instead uses a high-quality suede. The interior is crafted from graphite-coloured velvet microfibre; a more restrained look that lets the watches within stand out.

Inside, three compressible microfiber pillows can be found, separated by rigid microfibre-clad dividers. The advantage of these dividers is that they stop the watches from rubbing against each other and potentially damaging their surfaces. I recently got a huge scratch on my Grand Seiko after putting it in a watch roll without dividers, as another watch rubbed against it. I won’t be making that mistake again.

The compressible pillows are also a useful feature as they suit a wide variety of wrists and make easy to get your watch on and off the roll. You can do the watch’s bracelet or strap up in your hand and then slip the pillow in, rather than having to put it on the roll in situ, which is a pain. This is especially useful for watches with safety clasps like Rolexes or Tudors.
