8 affordable watches on eBay right now for under $5k, including Patek Philippe and Jacob & Co

Of late, eBay has been making serious strides into the pre-owned watch market and they certainly aren’t slowing down. They recently started a new Instagram account dedicated solely to watch content and just a few months ago announced their Authenticity Guarantee program to verify watches sold for $2000USD and over.

This week eBay is offering another sweetener to consider their platform if you’re a watch buyer. They’re offering a $500USD discount on watches that cost more than $2500USD until March 28 (see T&C below). To make the most of this deal and a half, we’ve pulled together a list of eight pretty interesting watches that span a range of brands and complications, but all ring the till up to about $5kUSD, just to make sure your $500 discount is going to work.

Rolex DateJust with blue dial

We all know that stainless-steel Rolex is a white-hot category and if you add a blue dial into the mix, it only gets more desirable. This 36mm Rolex DateJust features a blue dégradé dial that is just a delight to look at and the case looks to be in decent condition. Omega Seamaster Railmaster with brushed grey dial

This is a clean interpretation of the Omega tool watch DNA, with a watch that offers a Master-Chronometer caliber with a co-axial escapement and 150m of water resistance. Patek Philippe yellow gold pocket watch

It isn’t everyday that you seen anything from Patek Philippe at this price, apart from perhaps a pair of cufflinks. But this yellow gold pocket watch was made by the famed Genevan watchmaker, measuring 46mm in diameter and featuring an attractive silver sector dial. Movado M90 Chronograph ref. 19001 in stainless steel

This two-register chronograph from Movado is an interesting little vintage piece, measuring just 30mm in diameter but packing a decent visual punch thanks to the stylised Breguet numerals. Just like the pocket watch above, it isn’t too common to see a member of the holy trinity at this price, but this yellow gold dress watch offers a lot of value. Measuring a very modest 25mm in diameter this is likely a women’s watch, and features a crisp white dial with Roman numeral hour markers and a date display at 6 o’clock. Price: $3,035 USD. Jacob & Co. Palatial 5 Time Zone in steel

If, like me, you are used to seeing the jaw-dropping prices of various complicated and gem-set Jacob & Co. references, then it might a bit of a surprise to see this watch here. Yet here we have a Jacob & Co.Palatial 5 Time Zone watch that does exactly what it says on the tin, with the large 44mm steel case showing home time with the centrally mounted hands and four other independently adjustable timezones near each of the four lugs. Tudor Black Bay Blue 41mm ref. M79230B

When it came out in 2012, the Black Bay helped to put Tudor right back on the map.  And no wonder – what you’ve got here is a seriously robust diver with a COSC-certified in-house movement, all for a decidedly reasonable price.
