VIDEO: The TAG Heuer Autavia Chronometer Flyback 60th Anniversary DLC

With the introduction of the new TAG Heuer Autavia Chronometer Flyback Chronograph 60th Anniversary Silver dial, the brand bought back a classic design to one of its most storied lines. This alone would have been enough for TAG Heuer fans. However, they didn’t stop there. Instead, they doubled down on the design to give us a 60th Anniversary DLC version that is all types of cool. Join us as we take a look at this blacked out chrono.

The case

The case here bears the same proportions as that of the silver dial version. 42mm diameter with a 15.68mm thickness and 100 metres of water resistance. We have the same brushing and polished surfaces as well, which gives the watch a lively feel on the wrist. The key difference here of course is the DLC coating. A huge benefit of this decision is that to the eye, the case has a slimmer appearance.

The dial

Unlike the colour scheme seen on the silver dial version, this dial is monochromatic, using only black and white. This creates a simple aesthetic to the watch and also maintains a high degree of legibility. And just in case you still want a pop of colour, the lume used here is bright green and really pops.

The strap

TAG Heuer keeps the strap the same here. It’s alligator leather, with a red under, and uses the quick change system as seen on the brands other straps. More than ever, I agree with our Deputy Editor Zach, especially on this 60th Anniversary DLC, that a rubber strap would suit this watch perfectly.

The movement

The movement being used on the 60th Anniversary DLC is also the calibre Heuer 02 COSC Flyback. Between the smoothness of the column wheel and the usefulness of the flyback feature, the movement is perfectly suited for this newest offering.
