The Hamilton Floral Pink Capsule blossoms into 2023

It’s seeming as though pink may wind up as the dial colour of 2023, with Hamilton releasing two new watches of completely opposite styles in a matching floral pink colour. Whether you’re interested in just one of the collection, or even both as a delightfully sweet couple’s set, the Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart and the Ardmore Quartz both take on a distinctive flair under the influence of pink.
It’s no secret to my friends or coworkers that pink is my favourite colour, but the tone that Hamilton have landed on is a particularly pleasing execution. On the 36mm Jazzmaster Open Heart, the elaborate skeletonisation revealing the movement’s inner workings and the sharpened applied markers are tamed by the pink. Its soft pastel colouring is then amplified by a dynamic sunburst dial, almost like the sun shining off of some fairy floss. The 36mm sizing is a great gender-neutral choice, while the stainless steel bracelet imparts a lot of elegant presence. The calibre you’re peering into is the Hamilton H-10, boasting an 80-hour power reserve and a Nivachron balance spring.
Moving onto something a little bit more overtly feminine, the Hamilton Ardmore Quartz is a great option for those who want something dainty with a vintage-inspired rectangular case. Not only is it affordable with an attractive silhouette, but the silver dial nicely offsets the pink Roman numerals in a sophisticated way, and the 14mm pink leather strap will tie the watch in nicely to any other pink clothes or accessories you may choose to wear. It may only have a quartz movement and a mineral crystal, but you know you’re getting something that’s both easy to wear and reliable over decades. The case is 18.7mm x 27mm, understandably prioritising accessorising over legibility.
