Every TAG Heuer release of Watches & Wonders 2024, with a haute horlogerie Monaco and solid gold Skipper
Borna BošnjakIt’s no secret that I’ve had a bit of a thing for TAG Heuer ever since the brand showed off the new Glassbox Chronograph at last year’s Watches and Wonders. Things only got better, with nods to some of my favourite vintage pieces like the Skipper and 1158 CHN. For 2024, the Swiss powerhouse expands the Glassbox range, but the brand’s headlining release is something we’ve not seen from the brand for some time, returning to haute horlogerie with the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph. Check out the video below for more details about these new releases, keep an eye out for in-depth coverage of individual pieces, and read on for some juicy quick facts.
Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph
- No doubt spurred by its Only Watch 2023 entrant, TAG Heuer introduces a new colourway of the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph, with a movement in full titanium.
- The 5Hz TH81-00 is a result of a partnership with Vaucher, sporting some unique finishes that tie into the brand ethos, all visible through the sapphire dial and caseback.
- It’s the caseback that’s particularly interesting, fashioned fully from sapphire crystal to give the best possible view of the hand-painted gradient of the oscillating weight.

Carrera Chronograph Skipper in solid rose gold
- Certainly suited for its yachting roots, TAG Heuer outfits the skipper in a luscious 18k 5N rose gold case with the hands and indices to match.
- The blue dial and watersport-friendly canvas strap are carried over from the steel variant launched in 2023.
- To accomodate a 15-minute regatta countdown timer, TAG Heuer uses a modified version of its TH20/Heuer 02 calibre, now with bi-directional winding an an 80-hour power reserve.

Carrera Chronograph Glassbox Panda
- While the headlining release of 2024 is the Monaco, the supporting ensemble cast is all-Carrera, including this Panda Glassbox inspired by the 7753 SN.
- This first-generation Carrera from the late 1960s was a two-register, Valjoux-equipped watch, making the Glassbox Panda a subtle nod, rather than a retro re-issue.
- To go with the theme of improved visibility that made the original panda dial come to life, TAG Heuer has outfitted the Glassbox with red-tipped hands for the sub-dials and central chronograph second.

Carrera Date 36mm
- For those after something a little less retro-racing-inspired, TAG Heuer is presenting an expanded range of the Carrera Date 36mm with faceted crystal and touches of diamonds, gold, and mother-of-pearl.
- Meant to be versatile, everyday companions, the brand claims that the 36mm size is perfect for a unisex model, though the designs certainly lean towards those often marketed towards women.
- Just like the rest of the Carrera Date 36mm range, this trio is powered by TAG Heuer’s Calibre 7, traditionally based on the ETA 2892 or its clone, the Sellita SW300, helping the overall height stay at only 10.2mm.
