Tom Hiddleston? Idris Elba? Perhaps, for the first time, a woman? Who will be James Bond when Daniel Craig steps out of the role after No Time To Die? GQ Australia believes they have the answer.

“Movie news blog The Vulcan Reporter, run by Twitter scooper Vullein, has seemingly picked up the scoop that Tom Hardy has been locked in as the next James Bond after successfully auditioning for the role back in June,” GQ Australia writes. “Vullein elaborated on Twitter, saying, “I heard about this news back in June. At that point, Hardy’s casting wasn’t official but he had been auditioning and was basically locked into the role. It’s similar to how Craig said that he got the role of Bond and then months later it was officially announced.”

GQ Australia gives itself some wriggle room, by also quoting a contrarian view of Scott Mendelson, from Forbes, who goes as far as to say that Hardy “probably will not be cast” as Bond. But a quick scout around the internet makes it seem, at this point, far more likely than not that Hardy will be unstrapping his Bremont or Bulgari (his most worn watches) and donning an Omega in 2021. We can only hope.
