Pietro PillaWe are really feeling the heat of summer in the Northern hemisphere, and it seems that the watch industry feels the same. Compared to last week, this one has been rather quiet as far as new watch releases – which makes sense considering most people in Europe are taking holidays. However, some long-awaited timepieces, especially from smaller brands, still found the light of day. Here are some of the best releases from this week.
Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – 911 S/T
- Inspired by the newly released 911 S/T, Porsche Design presents an anniversary edition to pair with the car
- It is available in a light titanium case with both a matching titanium bracelet and a leather race-inspired strap
- Limited at just 1963 pieces, it’s available only to owners of the latest 60th anniversary 911 car
Furlan Marri x Watches of Switzerland “Bronzo Rosso”
- For the first time with a bronze case, Furlan Marri release this mechaquartz chronograph with a vivid red dial
- The brushed red dial is completed by cream prints and matching bronze details, including Breguet numerals at 6 and 12 o’clock
- Available only in the Watches of Switzerland boutiques in Singapore, New Zealand and Malaysia
Norqain Wild ONE TORTOUR Limited Edition
- The Wild ONE TORTOUR Limited Edition celebrates Norqain’s role as Official Timekeeper of the TORTOUR ultracycling event
- Black NORTEQ case and dial with white and red accents, 70-hour COSC manufacture calibre, commemorative exhibition caseback
- Limited to 15 pieces it is sold online and exclusively at Galli Uhren Bijouterie and Bucherer in Zurich (Price: CHF 5,250)
Mido Commander Gradient Nude Blue
- The new Commander uses a blue smoked sapphire dial that lets the movement be visible
- It is powered by the Mido Calibre 80 with 80 hours of power reserve
- It is available on a blue denim strap with white stitching that matches the hue of the dial
Christopher Ward Dragonfly Blue C63 Sealander GMT
- The new iteration of the classic CW GMT uses a bright blue brushed dial paired with a fourth orange hand
- With a 39mm diameter and a lug-to-lug of less than 46mm, it’s very wearable for every kind of wrist
- It is powered by the reliable Sellita SW330-2, decorated and visible through the sapphire case back
Christopher Ward Mulberry Red Automatic 36mm 
- With an intense shade of red on the dial, it’s very noticeable on the wrist, even at just 36mm
- The new Consort 5-link bracelet debuts on this watch and, together with a 10.75mm thickness, makes this watch extremely easy to slide under a cuff
- The 150m WR case is mostly brushed with large bevels, making it the perfect GADA watch
Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 35mm in Ice Blue And Yellow Gold PVD
- Tissot finally debuts the very popular Ice blue and Gold dial PRXs in the 35mm size
- Both are available with the Powermatic 80 movement
- At this price point, the PRX remains one of the best pound-for-pound integrated-bracelet watches
Hamilton Jazzmaster Skeleton
- Hamilton expands its Jazzmaster Skeleton collection with new dimensions and colours
- The 36mm version gets new plum and pink dials, with either a metal bracelet or a leather strap
- The 40mm models are available with a blue skeleton dial or a white one with rose gold-coloured indices
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Huracán Sterrato Monobalancier
- Made in partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse, it takes inspiration from the recently released off-road supercar
- Its case is crafted from Sheet Molding Compound Carbon, the same material used in the Huracan’s chassis
- Available in just 28 pieces, it has a tag price of EUR 70,000
