With Watches & Wonders 2024 fast approaching, the last week has seen a flurry of announcements. In fact, for all the brands present at the fair, the period immediately preceding is off-limits for announcing new watches. The novelties of the last seven days were so good that we decided to include a few extra additions to the weekly selection.

  • Watches of Switzerland in the UK celebrates its 100th anniversary by launching a special Tank Louis.
  • This iconic Cartier model features the same oversized Roman numerals as the Maison’s latest models.
  • The blued sword hands, blue cabochon, and blue strap complement the warmth of the yellow gold case and sun-brushed yellow gold dial.

Hamilton Ventura Dune Limited Editions

HAMILTON DUNE VENTURA LIMITED EDITIONS 49

  • Hamilton develops two limited editions based on the prop watch made for the second chapter of Dune.
  • The brief from the director and prop maker was to craft a watch for another world that would challenge traditional watchmaking norms.
  • One limited edition comes with an analogue display and the other with a digital display, capturing the futuristic essence of the dystopian film.

  • Tissot has done one for the enthusiasts, relaunching the PR 516 Chronograph with a manual-winding Valjoux movement.
  • Featuring a slabby 41 mm case with a sapphire and ceramic tachymeter bezel, it gives off big Tudor Black Bay vibes.
  • Tissot has also launched three quartz takes on the PR 516 that feature the same aesthetic.

  • Hanhart is back with their latest vintage reissue, the 417 ES Moby Dick, paying homage to the ultra-rare 1950s original.
  • A pilot’s chronograph, the 417 ES Moby Dick features a 30-minute timer on a vintage-inspired white dial.
  • A rare sight on pilot’s chronographs, the watch features a fluted rotating bezel to assist timing.

  • To emphasise their hand-assembly process, Frederique Constant collaborated with seconde/seconde/ to convey the message in his cheeky manner.
  • Not only are the applied markers scattered across the dial without any apparent meaning, but all the prints resemble handwriting.
  • Contrary to traditional watchmaking standards, this irreverent model is a limited edition of 100 pieces for the steel version and 10 pieces for the bimetallic version.

MB&F LM Perpetual EVO Blue

  • MB&F updates their rough-and-tumble perpetual calendar with a titanium case and blue dial plate.
  • Replacing the green dial variant, the new LM Perpetual EVO Blue retains the 80-metre water resistance and FlexRing shock protection system.
  • Designed by Stephen McDonnell, the perpetual calendar calibre on display uses an innovative way of calculating the dates, winning the Best Calendar Watch GPHG prize in 2016.

  • Raising money for charity and including a limited 10” vinyl single of Wagging Tongue, it retails for US$34,100.
