What should you expect if you are ever in the position to have an on-the-record discussion with the President of Omega? Expect candour, levity and directness. When Stephen Urquhart speaks, he shoots precisely, and beats no bushes. Like in Part 1 of this interview when he took aim at the wording of a ‘crisis’ in the industry. Part 2 is perhaps even more open, peaking when he makes the startling admission that the Co-Axial movement was debuted in the wrong model (the DeVille, in 1999). Elsewhere in this brief, on-point chat we debate whether the design of the new Globemaster Annual Calendar is “too busy”, we discuss his leadership style, his power of veto and last, but never least, the watch he wore on his (second) wedding day.

The new Omega Globemaster Annual Calendar. Is the dial script too busy? We ask the President of Omega, Stephen Urquhart for his opinion.

What is this Baselworld we speak of so often? Baselworld is the world’s biggest watch fair, held annually in Basel, Switzerland. We went, we saw, we made a video. It explains everything (headphones recommended, it’s loud).
