THE XMAS LIST: Time+Tide’s Naughty and Nice Watch List for 2014, starring…. YOU
Time+Tide‘Twas the week before Christmas…. And we all know what that means for watch magazines and websites: watch buying guides, last-minute gift ideas, lists of accessories for the hard-to-buy-for watch lover and lots of scouring of shipping small print to make sure it will arrive before the big day. We’ve ummed and aaahed about how to commemorate our first ever Christmas and we thought we’d go to the only list that matters at this time of year, the list kept by the bearded fat man in red.
Instead of give you our picks for the year, in a handy list, we’ve gone out to some of our most vocal and knowledgeable followers and asked them this one, very simple, question.
What watch do you want from Santa this year?
But of course we have to have a contingency, because there’s no guarantee that our cognoscenti have been well behaved in 2014, so we asked what they would like if they find themselves on the NAUGHTY list – a sensibly priced watch – and also a more optimistic, and expensive, choice presuming they make the NICE list.
That doesn’t mean, by the way, that the NAUGHTY watches aren’t NICE. Many listed here are just as tempting as those at the top end of the scale. And as for the nice watches, well they’re – on balance – priced high enough to be, in the words of Austin Powers, very naughty indeed. Oh behave.
As always, we were glad we came to you guys, our community and brains trust. The choices range from bolts from the blue to bolts of lightning, where we were reminded of some of the year’s highlight pieces that we’d completely forgotten.
Lastly, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from all of us at Time+Tide. Thanks for making 2014 incredible.
Andrew, Felix and the Team
THE TIME+TIDE NAUGHTY OR NICE XMAS LIST (UPDATED)

“If I’ve been erring on the naughty end of the spectrum I’d probably hit him up for a Seiko Monster. Now, if I’ve been eating my veggies, walking old ladies across the street, etc, then I’d aim for a Blancpain Ocean Commitment Bathyscape Chronograph. If the latter’s not hard enough for ya, then you can replace it with an AP Royal Oak Offshore Grande Complication. (I’d probably have to rescue a bunch of nuns from a burning building to rate that :)”

NAUGHTY: Sapphire Sandwich Speedy please
NICE: Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor DLC Titanium
