It’s back! Time+Tide Kiss, Marry, Kill Watches and Wonders 2024 edition

Borna Bošnjak

Looking likely to become a Time+Tide tradition at Watches and Wonders, the most fun bit of the fair has to be the Kiss, Marry, Kill wrap-up after the final day. With emotions still running hot from the days of shooting, presenting, and attending appointments, most of us are not prepared to take any prisoners, and no novelty is safe. The most interesting part of the discussion is just how different our opinions are, even though some of us tend to like the same watches. So, if your grail gets “killed”, or one of us simply cannot see a long-term commitment materialising, fret not. These are merely personal opinions of your fellow WIS.

Without spoiling the video, much was revealed about our personal tastes. For starters, Marcus and his shooting skills were defeated for the very first time by an unlikely contender, Pietro resolves whether or not he will remain faithful to a brand he’s picked previously that is known to capture his heart, while Zach tests his loyalties as well. There’s plenty of dislike for a heavy-hitter brand among multiple members of the team, making Andrew cringe. I disagree with Russell’s picks and find a grail that is neither vintage nor particularly low-key, Lars falls in love with an underrated gem, and Jamie makes a case for Hublot in the unlikeliest of fashions.

Will our resident Italian Pietro once again favour Parmigiani Fleurier?

After you hear our picks, however, make sure to head to the comments of the YouTube video and tell us how you feel about our opinions on this year’s releases, your own winners and losers, and what you’re looking forward to for next year’s fair. Also, stay tuned for a more in-depth round-up of our Watches and Wonders favourites from the entire Time+Tide team, including the new and old faces from the fair, as well as the team who held the fort in Melbourne and New York.
