“As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a watch collector”

D.C. Hannay is a writer, producer, voiceover artist, copywriter, and musician from New York, writing professionally for over 20 years. He’s been fascinated with watches his entire life, beginning with his father’s 1970 Breitling Navitimer, and will always have a soft spot for anything Casio.

First watch: a blue-dialled Timex Mercury – “It led a rough life, but the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long.”

Favourite watch: Breitling Navitimer 806 – “The first watch that really captivated me, and the one that informed my tastes ever since.”

Finale watch: Zenith El Primero G582 in 18k yellow gold – “Such an epic piece, but way under most peoples’ radar. It has the whole John Player Special thing for days. And there’s a reason Rolex used the El Primero movement in the Daytona”
