Fratello teams up with titanium specialist RZE for a rugged everyday tool watch

A truly rugged tool watch is a guilty pleasure of ours. And it is something we share a passion for with our friends at Fratello, who have joined forces with the RZE, a micro-brand that dedicates itself to creating affordable, tough, tool watches, with a dedication to titanium. The new RZE x Fratello Resolute Pro Contour has been designed to inspire those who wear it to get out into the wild and use it for its intended function. Its topographical dial gives a sense of the outdoors, without being too in your face, while the titanium case comes with the brand’s signature scratch-resistant UltraHEX coating.
Each dial made for this limited edition is unique thanks to a process of infusing steel powder into a forged carbon blank to create these topographical lines reminiscent of maps that display gradients. This fantastic dial texture builds into the intended use of the watch, giving it a more solid personality, without getting in the way of its function.
Throughout the rest of the watch, we find generous amounts of grade 2 titanium, in both the case and the H-link bracelet, which tapers from 20mm at the lugs to 16mm at the stainless steel folded clasp. All of the titanium in this watch is coated with UltraHEX, which provides added scratch resistance to the metal, keeping the brushed finish throughout in far better condition as this watch is used in rough conditions, as intended.
Inside is the Miyota 90s5, an automatic calibre with 42 hours of power reserve that’s made in Japan and offers a great value proposition for these thin, affordable pieces that still want to run on a mechanical calibre.
