The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Stories exhibition is finally coming Down Under with a pop-up in Sydney

The stories that the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso can tell have always captivated us. Whether it’s because it’s an almost century-old design, because it has a fascinating genesis, or maybe even because its signature flipping action is like turning the pages of a book – the Reverso continues to charm watch enthusiasts around the world.

Speaking of the world, if you’re a fan of Jaeger-LeCoultre and you live in Australia, then I’ve got some good news for you: the globe-trotting Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Stories exhibition is finally making its way Down Under, popping up in Sydney’s Martin Place from the 10th to the 19th of May.

This exhibition contains rarely-seen archival documents from the JLC collection, and a curated selection of milestone Reverso watches, from the original 1931 model to the latest novelties, including the rare Hybris Mechanica Calibre 185 ‘Quadriptyque’. There’ll be live perlage demonstrations, which normally you have to go to the manufacture to see: having done a bit of perlage in Switzerland with JLC, I can highly recommend it.

Other highlights include an art installation by Korean artist Yiyun Kang, and attendees will also have the chance to visit the 1931 Café, which features specialty drinks inspired by the Vallée de Joux and Madeleine pastries created by French chef Nina Métayer.

This exhibition has travelled around the world to cities like London, Paris, Zurich and New York. Zach, our editor, had the chance to visit the exhibition in NYC and he reckons it’s a must-visit if you’re a fan of JLC, or just want to learn more about high-end watchmaking.
