Wiz Khalifa versus Mia Khalifa – who wears Rolex best?Time+Tide
Let’s get ready to rumble in this horological battle with Rolex as the weapon of choice. In one corner, wearing his customary skinny jeans is Wiz Khalifa. The rap superstar has always been open about enjoying blinged-out wristwear. “So many rocks up in my watch I can’t tell what the time is,” he happily admitted in his smash-hit, Black and Yellow. His adversary today is his namesake Mia Khalifa. The former adult entertainment actress turned media personality, activist and influencer (with more than 24 million followers on Instagram alone) is well-known around the world for her bold personality and take-no-shit attitude. Significantly, Mia also turns out to have a penchant for The Crown as well. But which Khalifa wears Rolex best? Place your bets…
While we’re no strangers to big attitude rappers with a taste for iced-out wristwear, Wiz Khalifa pulls off the trick of making a presidential Day-Date with a black diamond dial seem like the perfect everyday watch.
Effortlessly cool in jeans and a t-shirt, Wiz was the perfect host when Architectural Digest came to call for a tour of the $4.6 million USD mansion he shares with his 5-year-old son. We all have our image of larger than life rappers with wildly extravagant tastes, but Wiz’s pad is, in fact, the epitome of West Coast cool.
From abstract art to minimalist design and touches of quirky chic, there’s neither a gold framed 6×6′ self portrait or a Roman column in sight. Instead, Wiz’s taste in interior design is stylish and refined.
Obviously, no rap superstar’s crib would be complete without the requisite collection of pimped out muscle cars, and a rather special games room with a bar focused on something other than alcoholic drinks.
Yes, Wiz has his own in-house marijuana bar to cater to his purported $10,000 a month weed habit. This is a guy who enjoys the high life indeed.
Throughout Architectural Digest‘s story and short video, Wiz makes his black diamond dial Roman numeral ref.1803 36mm Day-Date in 18K gold a natural fit, well matched by a single fat gold bracelet and a couple of huge rings. The fact that he pulls off this flamboyant watch with such nonchalant ease is testament to his laid-back swagger.
Statistically speaking, many of you will need no introduction to Mia Khalifa. Despite only working in porn for a mere three months in 2014, she instantly became the No.1 ranked performer on PornHub during that time. Now an outspoken critic of the adult industry, the Lebanese-American star frequently makes headlines whether outing the latest celebrity who tried to slide into her DMs or for her thoughts on the Israel-Palestine conflict. With her social media influence, paid appearances, and wildly successful OnlyFans profile, Mia has definitely earned enough dough to enjoy whatever watch she desires. But despite her colourful lifestyle, it appears that she remains monogamous to a single watch model – the classic Rolex Datejust.
Mia is frequently seen wearing one of two Datejusts. The first is a vintage stainless-steel 36mm Rolex Datejust on a jubilee bracelet with a fluted bezel. The configuration is highly versatile, which perhaps explains why she is spotted wearing it so frequently. It’s such a timeless reference and the 36mm sizing truly caters to any wrist. It is arguably the most flattering reference anyone of any gender can wear.
It can literally go with any wardrobe, the crisp white dial, sporty meets elegant case, and jubilee bracelet a perfect choice for a one-watch collection.

Mia also abides by what is the generally viewed as the golden rule for Rolex Datejusts: fluted bezels paired with jubilee bracelets, and, as you’ll see below, smooth bezels paired with Oyster bracelets.

Her second Datejust is a more modern reference in yellow Rolesor with diamond indices and a champagne dial. This two-tone configuration is a great foil to her plainer (for lack of a better phrase) Datejust, effectively having two watches from the same collection (from different eras) with vastly different aesthetics. You can tell the reference is a more modern production due to the style of clasp and case profile, and looking through the current catalogue these suspicions were correct: a Rolex Datejust ref. 126203 with a retail price of $12,900 USD.
In moments where Mia is perhaps looking for more wrist flair, the ref. 126203 is a great way to spruce up her wrist while still wearing something familiar that she clearly believes works for her. This two watch combo suits her well – able to switch up the look while rotating between a collection model she enjoys.

The other reality is the more modern two-tone watch in her collection is also a more robust build, which is why it seems she wears the ref. 126203 in more active scenarios (or if the yellow accents better cater to her wardrobe). Both Datejusts, in our opinion, suit her personality – vibrant and beautiful yet robust and strong.
To an extent, you would think someone like her might have a more bold selection of timepieces. Watches, however, are said to reveal the true personality of the owner. You might assume you’ve already seen rather a lot of Mia, but her Datejusts hint at a whole other side.
