What does ‘batshit crazy’ mean to you? To me, Wei, Frank and RJ, it means these new watches…

Andrew McUtchen

“Batshit crazy”, it turns out, is a phrase that means different things to different people. To me in a watch context, it means technical craziness. Lots of complications. Unnecessary but deeply impressive flexing of watchmaker muscle. To Wei it’s a state of mind. What watch would you be batshit crazy to wear on the mean streets of your town? This is a timely definition, as the frequency of watch crimes increase around the world. RJ, on the other hand, seems to have taken the most literal reading possible – choosing not one, but a series of watches that have sprung from a deliciously mad premise. As for Frank, hoooeee..! To Frank, batshit crazy can be summed up in two words: recycled steel. You’ll have to watch this one for this preamble to make sense. Go on then!

How can you get involved and what can you win?

Help us out, and consider our four serves waiting on a return. We’ve chosen our winners, but which among them is the most worthy? Please tell us what you think in the comments of the videos across all our platforms. From a Cuban cigar (God help Wei getting this out to the winner), to two pretty fine watch carry options from us and Frank at Monochrome, to a limited-edition Speedmaster Fountain Pen from guess who.

It’s one prize per category, not per Channel. So we’ll be scouring all the comments for the best, the funniest, the most sincere. We’ll also be doing a bunch of polls on social media to see which pick is getting the most traction. No single watch will be declared a winner – covering a watch in glory is not the point at this stage.

What are the categories, when are they running and who is hosting what?
