VIDEO: The Tissot PRX receives a long-awaited leather strap option
Borna BošnjakThe Tissot PRX has delighted many a watch enthusiast since its release. With its dashing good looks and ’70s soul, it’s been nothing short of a gamechanger in the entry level space, in both quartz and automatic variants.
Today we focus on the much-anticipated arrival of a leather strap option for the PRX. With a blue stitch running the length of the strap, it’s a design fitting of the angular design of the case. Currently only available for the 40mm size and in a croc-pattern blue colour, it makes use of the PRX’s quick release bracelet spring bars, for easily switching between the strap and steel bracelet.
A brushed stainless-steel link connects the leather strap to the case, as it retains the polished outer chamfers seen on the stainless-steel bracelet. A quick note regarding the most important of dimensions, the lug-to-lug. With this single non-articulating link, the effective lug-to-lug is 51mm, which may dissuade some wearers. While I prefer 48mm or less, my 6.25-inch (15.875cm) wrist could get away with it.
For a more in-depth look at the PRX, we had plenty of hands-on with both the quartz 40 205 and Powermatic 80 models, reviews of which you can check out at their respective links.
