Australia is often neglected by the world at large. We have to wait weeks if not months for some movies to come out, we pay extortionate amounts for cars, and livestream events are almost always going to be at an unreasonable time. To make up for this, we’re blessed with gorgeous landscapes, flora and fauna, and the world’s oldest indigenous culture. To spoil us just that little bit more, Seiko have released two limited-edition watches exclusively for Australian and New Zealand boutiques. Our Italian intern Pietro was invited to Seiko’s launch event for the SPB347J and the SRPJ53K, more easily named the Noosa and the Eucalyptus. In this video he’s joined by Andrew to recount both the specifications and the emotions behind these two distinct watches.

Noosa is a glorious tropical paradise, located in sunny Queensland. It’s a popular holiday destination for Australians and international tourists alike, as well as its surrounding areas. The Seiko Noosa is based on that beloved ocean, with a captivating blue gradient dial in a Sumo case. The Sumo case is definitely gaining in popularity lately, and putting such a stunning dial inside it will surely be tempting for a lot of people.

Noosa and Eucalyptus

The Eucalyptus finds its home in a more familiar turtle shape, but with an ethereal shimmer of green. The eucalyptus tree has an incredible amount of uses spanning from health to beauty, and some parts of its leaves are even used to make biodegradable glitter.

It’s said that when the sun hits a eucalyptus tree, you can see the haze of its oil evaporating from a distance. This dial captures that effect with intoxicating and poetic accuracy, in a way that will have you twisting your wrist around to watch the light dance at any given opportunity. Check out the video to see what we mean.
