Tudor tease upcoming new Formula 1 team watch at Watches and Wonders 2025
Jamie WeissIt’s fair to say that Tudor had a solid if not spectacular Watches and Wonders 2025. An apt way to put it is that there’s no lead singer: the brand’s releases have been iterative rather than revolutionary, and all have clearly been borne from community feedback. There’s really not much to complain about – I don’t want to be negative here! What was surprising is that we didn’t see a new Prince Chronograph “Big Block”. In our Tudor 2025 predictions article, that was the watch I was so sure Tudor would release this fair.
My only prediction that came true is that Tudor would release a white dial Black Bay Pro, and I feel very vindicated! Actually, another one of my predictions came true… Sort of. I was confident that Tudor would release a follow-up to the Black Bay Ceramic “Blue”, better known as the team watch for Formula 1 team VCARB. And while they haven’t actually released such a watch, they’ve confirmed its existence and that it’ll be dropping in around the month.
On the ground floor of the Tudor booth at Watches and Wonders, there’s a big Nixie tube countdown clock that reads “a new watch is coming”. It’s surrounded by F1 imagery (including a sculpture of F1 cars), and is decked out in white and blue – VCARB team colours. Upstairs, there’s even a real VCARB F1 car, as well as a ‘pitstop station’ where people can practise changing tyres. This isn’t a case of reading between the lines here: it’s pretty clear that Tudor is set to double down on its F1 partnership.
As for when this watch will be revealed? Well, there’s a month left on the timer, and in a month, we have the Miami Grand Prix. Last year, Tudor outfitted then-VCARB drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda with unique gradient dial Black Bay Ceramics, and you’d also describe the Black Bay Chronos in Flamingo Blue and Pink as being pretty Miami-coded. I just hope this second BB VCARB will be cased in white ceramic like I predicted…
