A Lange Sohne manufacture visit 1

#1: Inside the A. Lange & Söhne manufacture: “Where perfection meets beautiful imperfection”

Andrew travelled to Glashütte, Germany, to visit Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of A. Lange & Söhne, for a special immersive journey inside the manufacture of the prestigious German watchmaker, revealing the intricate craftsmanship, philosophy, and unique processes that position the brand at the forefront of haute horlogerie.

#2: New Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Mechanical SPB513

The new Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Mechanical SPB513 is not a chronograph. However, when we think of a modern Seiko Prospex Speedtimer, we think of a chronograph, because all the modern Speedtimer watches in the Seiko catalogue are chronographs. Right? So what does it do then? In place of a chronograph, the SPB513 marries a time and date watch with a countdown bezel, which, as Seiko describes it, could be used to track the time remaining before the start of a race or target durations, such as a pit stop. Watch my review of it above.

#3: New Tissot PRC 100 Solar brings photovoltaic technology to an analogue design

The new Tissot PRC 100 Solar is the latest example of more brands recognising the value solar power can bring to wristwatches, given the autonomy such pieces can achieve. Tissot introduces what they’re calling Lightmaster Solar tech to a sporty daily-wearer design. But unlike other brands that mostly use photovoltaic cells integrated into the dial design, the Tissot takes a different approach. In this video, Borna walks us through how it all works.

#4: The Datejust is THE BEST modern Rolex you can buy | CHANGE MY MIND

Is the Rolex Datejust the best model in the brand’s current catalogue? I believe so. These days, when it comes to Rolex, the conversation is almost always fixated on Rolex’s Professional models like the Submariner, Daytona, and GMT-Master II. They are very good watches that all have rich heritage and appeal, so it makes sense. That said, despite those watches being very good, I think there is one that trumps them as the best modern Rolex you can buy: the Rolex Datejust 36. Let me explain why first, and then be sure to leave us a comment with your thoughts.

#5: What is the best first luxury watch? | A MATTER OF TIME EP 01

The inaugural episode of the A Matter of Time podcast asks the question: What is the best first luxury watch? Eleonor, Kristian, and Andrew recount their first luxury watch experience, reflecting on how these watches sparked a lifelong passion. They also discuss current trends in watch collecting, such as the rise of microbrands, the impact of the pandemic on the industry, and how market speculation contrasts with their own emotional approach to watch ownership.

#6: New Omega Seamaster 300M Diver Bronze Gold and Burgundy: The watch Daniel Craig teased months ago

Recognise this Omega Seamaster 300M Diver Bronze Gold and Burgundy? You would if you recall the cheeky tease of an unreleased golden Omega Seamaster with a burgundy bezel on Daniel Craig’s wrist at an awards show back in November 2024. Four months later, the watch was finally unveiled. There are strap configurations to choose from, the first being a black rubber strap. The second, its mesh bracelet, is notably the first-ever Omega watch to be a full bronze gold case and bracelet design. This development also revealed to Omega fans and consumers what a full bronze gold model would be priced at for the first time as well.

#7: Jaeger-LeCoultre goes all-in on Reverso at Watches and Wonders 2025

In this video, Andrew digs into the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso novelties presented at Watches and Wonders 2025, and the brand’s renewed energy under CEO Jérôme Lambert. His return as CEO signifies a pivotal moment for Jaeger-LeCoultre, suggesting a shift back to a heritage-focused identity combined with fresh contemporary ideas. His experience and passion for the brand are likely to usher in a reinvigorated vision, potentially attracting new audiences while strengthening the loyalty of existing customers. You will discover new models such as the Reverso Tribute Monoface in all gold, a new duo of Reverso Tribute Duoface pieces in steel, and a stunning and highly functional new Reverso Tribute Geographic.

#8: Seiko 5 Sports SRPL91 and SRPL93: Gene Kranz and the shield live again

Did you catch the new Seiko 5 Sports SRPL91 and SRPL93 earlier this year? If a watch gets bestowed a nickname, you can be pretty sure that it’s a collectible one. Pepsi, Nina Rindt, Willard, Turtle… But have you ever heard of the Gene Kranz? Among the slew of Seikos that are deserving of their nicknames, the Gene Kranz isn’t one that pops up all that often, but its unusual origins are worth exploring. Originating as the Seiko 5 Sports Diver ref. 6119-8460, its white-dialled variant was worn by the flight director for Apollo 13, which gave it its nickname, with a bi-directional, count-up bezel and 70 metres of water-resistance in the recognisable Seiko 5 case. And now, it’s back, as Seiko revives this deep-cut reference from the late 1960s as the Seiko 5 Sports SRPL91 and SRPL93.

#9: Affordable watches that get respect from experts | A MATTER OF TIME EP 02

In Episode 02 of A Matter of Time, Eleonor, Kristian, and Andrew discuss affordable watches that they personally recommend for collectors and newcomers alike. The conversation blends humour, personal anecdotes, and expert insights to explore the nuances between bargain and affordable watches. They emphasise that “affordable” is subjective, with watches ranging from under $1,000 to several thousand dollars, highlighting brands and models that balance price, quality, and collector respect. Key watches discussed include micro-indies like the Furlan Marri Mechaquartz, Dennison ALD, Serica, and Toladano & Chan B/1, along with cult-favorite brands like Seiko, Casio, Nomos, and Oris.

#10: New Longines Spirit Pilot 39mm and a 3.6mm THINNER Spirit Pilot Flyback 39.5mm

What are the headlining elements of the new Longines Spirit Pilot and Longines Spirit Pilot Flyback? Well, for starters, you will notice that both watches no longer have the five applied stars on their dials. But the Longines Spirit Pilot debuts a new, refined 39mm size that is even thinner than the other sizes within the range. It is also sold on a new micro-adjustable bracelet, a leather strap with a micro-adjustable folding clasp, or an all-new textured khaki green rubber strap that bridges the gap between the robust bracelet and classic leather strap.

For the Longines Spirit Pilot Flyback, we have a new 39.5mm size, down from 42mm, and a much slimmer case at just 13.4mm thick instead of the 42mm’s 17mm thickness. This is in part due to the transition to a hand-wound calibre. For the rest of the exciting new details, you will need to watch Andrew’s full overview.
