TAG Heuer celebrates ongoing Indy 500 partnership with new limited edition Formula 1 Solargraph

Understandably, much of TAG Heuer’s marketing efforts in the racing world revolve around Formula 1. It was a significant investment and massive moment for the brand to reclaim its name as the Official Timekeeper of Formula 1, and it certainly came at an opportune time when the sport is considered one of the fastest-growing in the world. However, TAG Heuer’s reach in the automotive world does notably expand even further. The Indy 500 is one of the most celebrated motoring events to take place in the United States, with over 300,000 visitors visiting Indianapolis Motor Speedway for each running of the race each year. It’s a very, very big deal. This explains why TAG Heuer has had a continuous partnership with the Indy 500 for the last 20 years, and has once again decided to celebrate this partnership with its thirteenth collaborative model – the new Formula 1 Solargraph x Indy 500 – ahead of May 24, 2026, when the 110th running of the Indy 500 is set to be held.
The new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph x Indy 500 builds upon the updated Formula 1 model that TAG Heuer released last year. With its Goldilocks 38mm diameter, rather slender 10.2mm case thickness, and compact 42mm lug-to-lug span across, its scale will suit a very wide spectrum of wrists well. The stainless steel case features a sandblasted finish and has 100 meters of water resistance, aided by a screw-down crown and screw-in case back. The black bi-directional rotating bezel is made of TH-Polylight, with golden-brown printing matching the Indy 500 logo for the bezel markings.
The opaline black dial maintains the current Formula 1 model dial design, with large rhodium-plated applied indices filled with SuperLuminova. The twelve, six, and nine o’clock indices are done in the shape of the TAG Heuer shield logo, with the remaining hours featuring circle-shaped indices. The outer minute track is done in the same golden-brown as the bezel markings, and there is a date display at three o’clock. The Mercedes hour hand that is a key part of the Formula 1 dial design remains, with both the hours and minutes hands finished with rhodium plating, and a red lacquered seconds hand that ties in the red flag that is part of the Indy 500 logo. The dial is covered with a flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment.
The case back features an engraved Indianapolis 500 logo set to a brick motif backdrop, paying tribute to the track’s nickname and history. The “brickyard” nickname comes from the original brick paving of the track from 1909, and is honoured by a strip of the original track marking the start and finish of the oval track. You will notice the caseback reveals the watch is limited to 1,110 pieces – a nod to the fact this year’s Indy 500 is the 110th running of the event.
Powering the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph x Indy 500 is the calibre TH50-00, a solar-powered quartz movement that achieves a full day’s power via one minute of direct sunlight, with a full ten-day power supply achieved with 40-hours of direct sunlight exposure. The battery features a 15-year lifespan, making for a low-maintenance ownership experience.
Attaching the watch to the wrist is achieved via a sandblasted stainless steel three-link bracelet. The TAG Heuer-engraved folding clasp is secured closed with double safety push-buttons and includes three drilled points of micro-adjustment to allow you to better fine-tune its sizing on your wrist.
