Rado brings together two top Australian sports stars, Ash Barty & Cameron Green, in its latest campaign
Jamie WeissIt’s that time of year again. My British and American colleagues are battening down the hatches and getting ready for a white Christmas… But here, Down Under, the mercury is rising, the shorts and sundresses are coming out, and we’re getting ready for another big summer of Australian sport. We Aussies are sports mad, and there’s nothing quite like wrapping up presents with test cricket on the TV, or making the pilgrimage to Melbourne Park for the first Grand Slam of the year.

Fittingly, Rado has just launched its brand-new global marketing campaign – called The Rhythm Within – with two Aussie sports stars front and centre: tennis legend Ash Barty and cricket star Cameron Green. This makes Rado the only Swiss watch brand with two Australian brand ambassadors on the books, and with both The Ashes currently underway (with Australia taking a commanding first test victory – Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!) and the Australian Open not that far away, we’ll be seeing plenty of both Cam and Ash.

It’s hard to oversell just how much of an icon Ash Barty is. A Rado ambassador since 2017, the 29-year-old Queensland tennis phenom was ranked as the world No. 1 in women’s singles by the WTA for 121 weeks, won 12 WTA Tour-level singles titles, and three majors at the 2019 French Open, 2021 Wimbledon Championships, and 2022 Australian Open – before retiring at the peak of her power in 2022 to focus on starting a family. Known for her diverse and entertaining style of play as well as her sunny, understated personality, Ash is, without overstatement, one of the greatest sporting ambassadors Australia has ever had (in my opinion, at least).

Cameron Green, on the other hand, is a star on the rise. One of the cricketing world’s best all-rounders who has had a tough run of things lately with injuries, Green nevertheless has a return to form. The 26-year-old Perth native is back to bowling 140km/h and is part of the Australian squad for the 2025–26 Ashes series, where we’re likely to see Green put the fear up more than a few Poms. Again, he is a great ambassador for both Australian sport as well as Rado, with whom he’s been linked since 2024: articulate, dedicated and extremely skilled, he’s exactly the sort of person you want wearing your watch or playing for your country.
But what watches do they wear? Cam is currently wearing the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Chronograph, which combines a matte and polished black high-tech ceramic case and bracelet with luxurious gold touches – the perfect pairing with the green and gold. As for Ash, she’s collaborated with Rado on a few signature models over the years, but she’s currently wearing the Centrix Automatic Diamonds in 35mm with a mother-of-pearl dial and diamond bezel.

Both watches being ceramic is ideal as we head into the summer months, with ceramic being lightweight and cool on the wrist – great for hot weather (although I doubt Cam or Ash will be wearing a mechanical watch while they compete in their sports – indeed, Cam confirmed as such to me when I met him late last year!) Regardless, it’s just great to see two Australian sporting heroes get some nice Swiss watches on their wrists.
“Every Rado watch tells a story of patience, precision, and purpose, values that have always guided me on and off the court. This campaign celebrates that quiet rhythm within all of us — the drive to keep evolving, to keep perfecting the craft,” Ash has said about this campaign. Cam agrees: “Whether I’m walking out to bat or focusing on a new challenge, it all comes down to rhythm, timing, balance, and trust in your preparation. That’s what makes Rado such a natural fit. Their watches capture that same feeling of focus and flow that defines sport at its best.”
“Ash and Cam embody two different expressions of mastery — grace and power, instinct and precision,” Rado CEO Adrian Bosshard relates. “Bringing them together reflects Rado’s belief that true greatness isn’t loud; it’s measured. It’s found in rhythm, performance, and the quiet confidence of knowing your moment.” Find out more here.
