Omega makes a titanium Seamaster 300M for Milano Cortina 2026

We now know the routine: as a new Olympic Games rolls around, we are bound to be treated to new Omega special editions to mark the upcoming games. The upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics are no different. As they are set to kick off this February, we have our final sporting-themed watch in the shape of this Seamaster Diver 300M.
This watch actually completes a trio of pieces that Omega has released for these games, with a dressy 37mm Seamaster coming out last February and a dashing Speedmaster 38 last October. Now with a little over two weeks until the official start to the games, this new Seamaster rounds off the line-up, or the podium, if you will. So what has Omega put into this new watch to make it worthy of this heroic competition?
The first aspect of this watch that makes it stand out among the regular collection is that it is made from a completely titanium case, which is one of the rarer materials in the Seamaster 300M family, previously only found on the No Time to Die release and the more recent releases that were modelled after it. So it’s nice to see this sporty choice in metal make it to the Italian slopes of this Winter Olympics.
The titanium is not uniformly finished either. While we are used to seeing the dark grey, sand-blasted look of titanium on our watches, here Omega has mixed in a decent amount of polished surfaces to give it a more refined, less utilitarian look – a nice touch for a watch designed to commemorate the pinnacle of human athletic achievement in the most extreme conditions.
The next material choice of note here is the use of ceramic across both the bezel insert and the dial. This is again something we have seen Omega do in the past, and I like the continuity that flows across from one component to the other when this is done. The bezel ceramic is sand-blasted with the diving scale laser-ablated so that it rises from the background in a completely monochromatic fashion that almost gives the impression of mounds of snow… Or moguls, perhaps?
Next, we have this ceramic dial that has been laser-engraved to give it a frosted texture that looks as though someone has swiped their finger through it in a shape similar to that of the Milano Cortina logo. This is a playful touch that is allowed to shine due to the lack of colour across this watch, with only slight touches of blue found on the seconds hand and the dial text.
Flip the watch over, and we have the official logo for this year’s games engraved into the solid titanium caseback that covers the Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8806 movement inside. This is a movement we have got used to running things in the Seamaster 300M series now, but it is still just as reliable as ever, with the exclusive escapement keeping everything well-regulated.
