Omega starts the countdown to the Winter Olympics with a new 37mm Seamaster

  • Omega has gone dressy to start the countdown to the Winter Olympics next year.
  • The new Seamaster 37mm Milano Cortina comes in full Moonshine Gold and highly stylised, angular lugs.
  • Stamped with the 2026 game’s logo on the caseback, it costs US$19,300.

It may feel like we just finished the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, but Omega is looking thoroughly into the future with one year to go for the Winter Olympics taking place across various sites in northern Italy, falling under the banner of Milano Cortina. The new Seamaster 37mm Milano Cortina 2026 edition feels extremely Italian in its styling, with an 18k Moonshine Gold case surrounding what looks to be a crisp, almost snow-like, grand feu enamel dial.

The hands and markers are all crafted from polished 18k Moonshine Gold, with the diamond shape of the markers playing perfectly off the sharp dauphine hands. A subtle minute track and Seamaster script logo are stamped in petit feu enamel to help keep this dial clean and clear of clutter.

A small detail that I’m personally a fan of is the hexagonal crown that has been made for this model, it’s a subtle addition that plays nicely off the separate, angular lugs, which are often referred to as dog-leg and builds into this watch’s dressy aesthetic.

The back of the watch, as is tradition now with Omega Olympic special editions, has been adorned with the logo designed for these Olympic games. The solid caseback covers the Co-Axial, Master Chronometer Calibre 8807, an automatic movement with magnetic resistance up to 15,000 Gauss, and pretty much the same movement as the one found in the popular Seamaster 300M releases from the end of last year.

With this more refined model being released to mark a year to go until the games get underway, I’m sure we can expect some more sports-ready models to be released closer to the starting pistol being fired and the Olympic flame being lit in northern Italy. And yet, this release certainly feels in line with the more refined style we associate with the fashionable location.
