Norqain celebrates the start of the holiday season with two precious metal 39mm Wild One Skeletons
Tom Austin- Norqain has unveiled two special 39mm Wild One Skeletons, both featuring 18-karat gold top plates on the case.
- The plates are crafted from 18K PX Impact gold, which is sustainably and ethically sourced, with a lasting, positive environmental impact.
- Two variants are available: one in 18-karat red gold and another in 18-karat yellow gold, a first for Norqain.
As far as years go, 2025 has been pretty successful for Norqain, to say the least. From the signing of the new UK and Ireland Business Partner and Ambassador, Gary Neville, to landing a sponsorship deal for one of the biggest football events in the calendar, this year has seen the brand’s positioning go from strength to strength. That doesn’t even include some of the fantastic releases we’ve seen from the brand recently, too, from the summer smash hit Freedom 60 Enjoy Life, to the wild colourways of the 39mm Wild One Skeleton. With releases like these, I’d say 2025 is something for Norqain to celebrate. And to round the year off at the start of the holiday season, the brand has gone and done just that, by announcing two very special 39mm Wild One Skeletons, with top plates finished in 18-karat gold.
Let’s not be mistaken, these aren’t some ultra-heavy, solid-gold chunks of metal; the Wild One is well known for its airy, lightweight construction, and despite the addition of gold, these latest Wild Ones stick to that recipe. This is thanks to the ultra-light NORTEQ composite back plate and titanium container, which form a structural part of the 39mm case, which is then topped with an 18-karat gold plate, serving as the bezel and the upper portion of the case.
There are two options to choose from: the first is an 18-karat red gold finish, first seen on the Wild One Gold from 2023, and the second is a first for Norqain: an 18-karat yellow gold version, limited to just 50 pieces. Both gold plates are crafted from “18K PX Impact Gold”, which is ethically sourced from Norqain’s Swiss partner, PX Group. PX Group gold is mercury-free, used extensively in the aerospace and medical sectors and is sourced from artisanal mines, ensuring that the materials used support sustainable practices.
Functionally, these two new watches are just as superb as the Wild Ones that came before them, offering a purposeful, sports watch package with 200 meters of water resistance, a screw-down crown with chunky guards, and a double-coated anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Each watch also features an engraved 18-karat gold plaque on the side of the case, which usually comes in NORTEQ carbon fibre, to finish off the elevated level of luxury, especially as it can be customised with your own personal message.
The Wild One is powered by the Norqain Calibre N08S, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW200-1 S. As the name suggests, the dial is heavily skeletonised, offering a full view of the movement and bringing a high-end, contemporary feel, without hampering legibility. It’s a good-looking movement, too, especially when framed by the floating gold hour markers and diamond-cut, gold-plated hands. These sit on skeletonised top plates, which come in silver on the red gold model and black on the yellow gold model.
The N08S has been given a bespoke Norqain oscillating rotor and a slight boost to power reserve, now offering 41 hours instead of 38 hours previously. It isn’t just made to look good, either; it’s a COSC-certified movement, offering an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day.
The darker, more contrasting yellow gold and black model comes equipped with a black rubber strap, while the lighter, red gold model features a case-matching white rubber strap. Both straps feature the Milanese textured pattern found on the other Wild Ones, and close via a NORTEQ carbon fibre pin buckle, with optional gold pin buckle or titanium folding clasps. The fit is perfect against the case and creates a cohesive, natural extension of the case’s design.
