Norqain now has a Wild One Skeleton in a 39mm case – with four new colours!

Though a young, independent watch brand, Norqain has built an established reputation for being a watch brand for the active adventurer. With its “Neverest” (never rest) mindset, the brand has primarily focused on producing robust GADA watches that can tag along on any journey. This aura and mission was further cemented in 2022 when it announced watch industry legend Jean-Claude Biver had joined on as an advisor to the board and, shortly after, unveiled its new Wild One collection, co-developed with Biver. This watch debuted a new 25-part case comprised of a carbon fibre ‘NORTEQ’ composite cage, titanium container, and rubber shock absorber that work together to create something 6.25 times lighter than standard stainless steel and 3.5 times lighter than standard titanium yet capable of withstanding shock up to 5,000 G.
The collection has evolved further since its introduction, even debuting a “Wild One of One” configurator program last year, and we have seen the collection catch the eyes of known celebrity watch collectors like Mark Wahlberg. Today, however, brings significant new developments for the Wild One. With the new Norqain Wild One Skeleton 39mm, this robust collection can now reach a wider range of wrists with an even more compact size.
This more mid-sized 39mm option brings the lug-to-lug measurement down to 45.75mm from the 49.4mm measurement of the 42mm model, opening the door to smaller wrists feeling more confident in taming its dimensions. It is also notably half a millimetre thinner than the 42mm model, but despite being more compact, it is still a 5,000 G and 200-metre water-resistant watch with a screw-down crown.
This new range keeps the framework of its larger predecessors, merging a marbled black NORTEQ case cage with coloured rubber shock absorbers. The four debuting Wild One Skeleton 39mm models, however, debut four entirely new colours: Hyper Pink, Sky Blue, Purple Ice, and Mint. The first three are regular production models, but the Mint configuration pictured above will be limited to 400 pieces.
The rubber straps for each model continue the tradition of textured channels that colour-match the corresponding shock absorber and remain secured to the wrist via a case-matching pin buckle. Inside and exhibited within the watch also remains the Sellita-based calibre N08S, the very same automatic and COSC-certified movement found in the Wild One Skeleton 42mm models.
As someone who tends to prefer watches to be smaller rather than larger where possible, I think it is fantastic that Norqain has added a 39mm model to the Wild One Skeleton range. Considering the fact that the watch offers identical robustness and movement specs to its larger sibling, it really just boils down to which diameter you prefer. Aside from the new colour options and size, you are otherwise getting an identical offering – and this is a good thing. When watches are scaled down, we too often see depth ratings decrease and movements become less elaborate. Thankfully, that’s not the case here.
