Episode 3 of Four New Ways to Fly to the Moon — and this one took a detour we didn’t plan. Andrew and Justin were set to go head-to-head on the classic Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch versus the blue Snoopy Speedmaster — the unimpeachable just-means-business OG versus the playful, sadly not so easy to score at retail Speedmaster that incorporates everyone’s favourite Peanuts pooch in a very neat way. Then Robert-Jan Broer, founder of Fratello Watches, the man who literally coined Speedy Tuesday, weighed in. Flight plan changed. What followed was one of the most honest conversations we’ve had on this series.

Two dramatically different watches. Two dramatically different personalities. The Snoopy is characterful, cartoonish, emotional — it has a hidden animation on the caseback that will genuinely stop you in your tracks. The Moonwatch is the icon. The thing they actually wore to the moon. No gimmicks. Just 42mm of hand-wound perfection that somehow works under a suit.

Andrew met Jim Lovell — the Apollo 13 astronaut who manually timed the re-entry burn on an Omega Speedmaster and got his crew home alive. That changes how you look at a watch.
