LVMH Watch Week is bringing in the new year in fine form. For this particular series, instead of breaking yet more records with the omnipotent Octo Finissimmo, Bulgari have decided to give us a reminder of their heritage in jewellery via the “Time is a Jewel” collection. Featuring practically every kind of precious stone you can imagine, this new collection is not just a simple arrangement of sparkling gems, but a line of intricate artisanal works for any fans of feminine flair.
Divas’ Dream
If you’ve been shopping for Bulgari jewellery before then you may recognise the Divas’ Dream name, as it’s quite a popular style of necklace. In watch form, eight of the Divas’ Dream fan shapes are splayed out from the centre like heralding trumpets, encrusted with diamonds, and separated by large gemstones in individual cradles. Although the case and bezel are made from 18k rose gold, the sheer amount of jewels means that the gold adds a warm glow and sparkle to the overall effect rather than feeling like a totally gold watch. The dial in the centre, like the disk flowers of a daisy, is made of a delicate white mother-of-pearl and features hands that are colour-matched to the individual watch. The new varieties are resplendent with topaz and tanzanite, amethyst and tourmaline, and diamond and ruby. All of these watches have about four to five carats of stone.

Divas’ Dream Mosaica
The Divas’ Dream Mosaica interprets the fan shape in a different way, using them as a dial pattern instead of a flower arrangement. But where you may have expected Bulgari to use fewer stones in this way, the watch is almost entirely laden with jewels in a mosaic technique that looks even more lavish, and a touch more traditional. The round section of the case is larger at 37mm, with fan-shaped lugs that draw in your eye like an hourglass. Of the two new models, the Pink Sapphire version comes with a matching pink strap and includes 3.8 carats of diamond and 3.5 carats of sapphire, and the Blue Sapphire version (which could be a flashy unisex option) has 7.8 carats of diamond and three carats of sapphire thanks to a white-gold diamond-set bracelet. Enhancing the luxury feeling is the mechanical BVL 191 movement with automatic winding, 42 hours of power reserve, and a 4Hz beat rate.

Allegra
Just as the Divas’ Dream used its shape to evoke a flower, the Bulgari Allegra is a veritable bouquet. The inner watch is largely the same as the Divas’ Dream with the mother-of-pearl dial, but it also has extra diamonds used as hour markers. The surrounding sections are seemingly allocated at random with a variety of differently coloured and shaped stones, giving the watch a sense of natural chaos and organised expression. Although each watch has its assortment of tourmalines, citrines, rhodolites and peridots, the panels that fill up the rest of the space are covered in either yellow or pink sapphires.

Serpenti Seduttori
The Serpenti Seduttori is one of the best women’s watch ranges ever created, balancing the attractive snake’s head case with a versatile bracelet that isn’t as much of a novelty as the Tubogas models. Initially released in 2019, the Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori is delightfully sleek with its rounded and stepped case, transitioning into a snakeskin-style bracelet that flows comfortably over the wrist. Both of these new 33mm versions feature a deep black lacquer dial, the first all in steel with a pink rubellite cabochon crown and the second two-tone in steel and 18k rose gold.

Serpenti Tubogas Infinity
The Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas is the ultimate display of jewellery meeting watchmaking, requiring the pinnacle of both industries to execute it perfectly. Although the Tubogas technology of a coiling, spring-action bracelet has been around since 1948, the Serpenti Tubogas Infinity is the first time that a weaving path of decorative diamonds has been able to traverse both the case and the bracelet, giving it a fluid impression of symbolic sentiments. Each of the 35mm cases display a dial of sparkling diamonds that form stars in their negative space, and hour markers with Roman numerals make it a practical watch as well. It’s available with either one or two coils of the bracelet, being adorned with 445 (4.85ct) and 486 (5.85ct) diamonds respectively.
