Ok. Holy s**t. We already know the comments will pour in denouncing the level of extravagance at play here, but at the end of the day, what hip-hop couple Offset and Cardi B give their daughter Kulture for her birthday is their decision. Admittedly, the gift is by no means the typical present for one’s third birthday, but I think it is fair to say that Cardi B and Offset are anything but basic. Their bold personalities clearly extend to their purchases as became glaringly clear this week. Most people receive a luxury watch for major milestones – graduations, engagements, new jobs or birthdays later on in life. But Kulture received her very own Richard Mille watch, reportedly worth in excess of $250,000.

Kulture Richard Mille

Apparently Kulture celebrated her third birthday with a giant princess party bash, where at some point in the festivities the crowd circled around Offset and his daughter as he presented her with a diamond-bezelled Richard Mille outfitted on a pink rubber strap. The MC was understandably blown away repeatedly yelling a “Richard Milly, a Richard Milly”.

This isn’t the first time we have seen young children of the rich and famous sporting highly sought-after and expensive timepiece. Nicki Minaj let her infant child wear a fully diamond paved Patek Philippe Nautilus worth $400,000, and Crisitiano Ronaldo’s son once won the red carpet rocking one of the most expensive Rolex watches in the catalogue, clocking in at over $1,000,000. In that context, Kulture’s new Richard Mille is rather tame by comparison.

The gifts did not end there. The watch was technically a gift from Offset, while Cardi B presented Kulture with a very high-end Elliante baby charm necklace, diamond studded with Minnie Mouse and Chanel charms. While the charm necklace is quite the piece of jewellry, Cardi B acknowledges that her father Offset may have outdone her.

Again, we get that this will inevitably irk some, as common sense dictates this is not something a three year old should own. Then again, most three year olds do not already have 2 million followers on Instagram (a page managed by mommy Cardi B), nor do they have superstar parents who represent some of the biggest names in the rap genre. One thing that is for certain is their love for their daughter, and we can all at least appreciate the wide grin she has when the box opens to reveal the watch. I can picture the future conversation now though – “Kulture! Finish your homework or I am taking away your Richard Mille”.
