Jaeger-LeCoultre’s ‘The Adventure Spirit’ Travelling Collection is now in Las Vegas!
Zach BlassWas anyone else jealous of the UK, our Time+Tide UK Editor Russell Sheldrake, and the Jaeger-LeCoultre ‘Adventure Spirit’ Travelling Collection event in our London Discovery Studio? Well, this month, gambling, The Sphere, and the upcoming Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix are not the only reasons to head to Sin City. If you are a fan of watches, particularly Jaeger-LeCoultre watches, and will be in Las Vegas this month, you will be glad to know that the brand’s ‘The Adventure Spirit’ Travelling Collection exhibition is open for reservations.
The exhibition, hosted at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Vegas boutique, is an immersive four-chapter narrative that allows you to deep dive into the brand’s archives, with the four chapters being “Military Watches”, “Diving Watches”, “Bold Sports Watches”, and “High Concept Sports Watches”.
The “Military Watches” chapter revisits the early days of aviation and the robust, mechanically precise and highly legible pilot’s watch designs from the brand – as demanded by its military clients, including the (British) Royal Air Force and Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm.
The “Diving Watches” chapter explores Jaeger-LeCoultre’s specialised underwater watches, such as the original Memovox Deep Sea, with its distinct and inventive alarm functionality that vibrates and sounds a warning when it is time to return to the surface.
The “Bold Sports Watches” chapter showcases the brand’s disruptive sports watch designs from the 1970s, when the brand was playing with new forms, display styles, and bolder uses of colour.
“High Concept Sports Watches” delves into creations from the early 2000s, where Jaeger-LeCoultre debuted high-performance concept watches, such as the Master Compressor Extreme LAB 2, which is comprised of 569 components.

The exhibit is open to the public by reservation; guests can book a guided tour on the Jaeger-LeCoultre website.

Why is Hublot hated? Andrew’s frank conversation with CEO Julien Tornare
“Look, I’ll be honest with you. When Julien Tornare caught wind that Marcus and I were in the Hublot building filming watches, I wasn’t expecting what came next,” Andrew explains. “The man literally hunted us down in the hallway with an offer I couldn’t refuse: ‘Ask me anything.’ So I did. And what followed was one of the most candid conversations I’ve ever had with a luxury watch CEO.” Watch their chat on YouTube above, or read more here.

A Matter of Time EP 09: Gemstone watches for dummies, from hardstone dials to rainbow bezels
Stone dial watches, gemset watches, diamond watches… You may see this headline and think this video is not for you. But Eleonor takes Andrew and Kristian to school, and as she runs through the origins of hardstones, intricacies of setting diamonds and gemstones, and the various cuts utilised by many watch brands, it becomes clear that this subject, often scoffed at by male watch collectors, is far more fascinating and insightful than you might expect. Where does the added cost really come from? Is it justified? What hardstones, gemstones, and diamonds are the most and least expensive? Watch the full video to learn about it all. We promise it is very, very much worth it.
