INTRODUCING: Norqain impresses with the new Adventure Sport 37mm Limited Edition

Norqain has become one of those brands that is synonymous with adventure. From tackling the great outdoors to becoming at one with mother nature. Yet, as other brands interpret adventure differently for men and ladies (often creating a dumbed down version of a more adequate watch), Norqain breaks the mold. They continue to highlight what it is women really want in a watch. And if you want a clear example of this, their recent release, the Adventure Sport 37mm limited edition, is a perfect place to start. The Adventure Sport 37mm Limited Edition is modelled closely after the sold out, Adventure Sport 37mm DLC we saw late last year. The thickness on this version is the same 11.5mm, with a very compact 44mm lug-to-lug. Add to that its screw-down crown providing 100 metres of water resistance and the watch should withstand most that’s thrown it’s way.

Where things differ from last year’s model, and my favourite aspect of this version, is the unidirectional bezel. Instead of a timing bezel, we get 60 black diamonds. It adds this sense of cool and a bit of flair to the design that elevates the watch in my opinion. And because the diamonds are black, you don’t lose out on the overall sporty appeal of the design.

One final note on the case. We still get the Norqain plate located on the 9 o’clock side of the watch. I know that can be a point of contention for some, however it’s still a perfect spot for personalised engravings.

Moving in from the case, we’re met with a deep black version of Norqain’s patterned dial. When paired with the rose-gold plated indexes, hands and logo, the mixture of black and gold truly pops. The gold framed, white on black date wheel keeps that aesthetic going. All of this is highlighted even more by the use of the black diamond bezel, which draws you into the dial, amplifying its design cues.

I know that to some the use of rose gold accents may seem strange for a sporty watch. However, an ample supply of C1 Superluminova on both the indexes and hands does much to quell those thoughts.Powering the Adventure Sport 37mm limited edition, and viewed through the sapphire crystal caseback, is Norqain’s NN08 Calibre. It’s based off of the tried-and-true Sellita SW200 movement. That means 38 hours of power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 bph. Finally, keeping the watch secured to your wrist and continuing with the black motif is Norqain’s black rubber strap. It’s 18mm and from prior experience, is quite comfortable and ready for a dip in the pool.Overall, the Adventure Sport 37mm limited edition is a good, reliable sports watch. It brings the black diamond bezel we saw on the male-targeted Independence 19 DLC to the ladies 37mm line. All without dumbing down the overall offering. Which leads to the best part about the watch. Though under the ladies section on Norqain’s website, it’s a great option for anyone who liked the aspects of the Independence 19 DLC but wanted a smaller size. That says something about the universal appeal of the design and how Norqain approaches its ladies offerings. They don’t get an inferior product.

It’s something I know many fans of the brand, both gents and ladies, appreciate.
