The story in a second:

If you love fast cars and fine watches the latest limited edition Hublot for Ferrari will get your engine revving.

Aside from making watches, the thing Hublot does best is make smart partnerships and collaborations. Case in point: their relationship with Ferrari – a perfect union of road and wrist. In the past Ferrari has partnered with Girard-Perregaux and Panerai, and while these guys certainly had the masculine swagger required to roll with the prancing horse, they never quite seemed to share a vision. That all changed in 2012 when Hublot came on board.

The Hublot philosophy of fusion is one with many parallels in the world of high-octane automobiles. In fact, with their continual use of materials like rubber, carbon fibre and hi-tech ceramic their watches often have more in common with luxury cars than their industry peers. Both brands share an appreciation of highly technical machines and big statements.

All these things are present in the new Big Bang Ferrari King Gold Carbon. In fact, they’re present in the bezel, which is one of the most unique we’ve seen. It’s made from carbon with 18k gold occlusions – the perfect fusion of technology and luxury. The Unico movement is visible through the sapphire dial, which features a gold Ferrari logo at 9 o’clock. There are several other subtle nods to the car marque, notably the red-tipped chronograph hands and the yellow date wheel. Beyond that, the case is 18K King Gold (Hublot’s proprietary red gold alloy), microblasted to give a more toned down look. A rich brown Schedoni leather strap finishes off the package – and it’s considerably more achievable than getting a 488 in your garage any time soon.
