FRIDAY WIND DOWN: 27th February, 2015
Felix Scholz
It’s that time of the week again. Time to take stock, to pause and reflect. Are you a red or a white man? What happens if you drop your watch into soup? You know, the big questions.
What happened?
We fell a little bit in love with this super-simple, dateless Rolex Oyster Perpetual, particularly the ‘white grape’ dial colour, though the ‘red grape’ does look fruity and full-bodied too.
What actually mattered?
A collaboration between eccentric Finnish indie watchmaker Stepan Sarpaneva and Swedish Black Badger Composites had to happen, and we are so glad it did. The lume game just changed.
The week in numbers:
3: The number of minutes it took us to unanimously decide that The West Indian cricket team should be sponsored by Richard Mille. Good call @kingkav1 and @nikokav.
12: The weight, in kilograms, of the floral frocks worn by Richard Mille’s booth attendants at SIHH.
799: How many of our Instagram followers liked the subtle grey and Sedna gold combo on the limited Omega Speedy Apollo 11 45th anniversary edition. Good taste guys.
9: The number of amazing watch photos in our post announcing Time+Tide Images. The number of supermodels — two.
