5 Rolex models just over and just under RRP that you can pick up now on Bob’s Watches, including a surprising Daytona…Zach Blass
As we’ve recently established, in Matt’s story here, we are no stranger to the discussion around Rolex scarcity. Trust me, as regular watch buyers, we totally get it. I am personally disappointed and dismayed each day I don’t hear back from the authorised dealers in New York City and beyond that I visited to express interest in the Oyster Perpetual 36 model upon its release this year.
Sadly, these Perpetual watches perpetually frustrate customers who can’t seem to get ahead in the enigma that is the Rolex waitlist. But you don’t have to suffer in silence. Here are five Rolex models available just over and just under retail pricing via Bob’s Watches – which enjoys a reputation as a trusted vendor of pre-owned Rolex worldwide.
Each of the photos below are actual shots of real inventory available now at Bob’s Watches
Rolex Explorer 214270
The Rolex Explorer is an extremely versatile timepiece that will go with any wardrobe and can be utilised in any daily or formal situation. This modern Explorer 214270 is 39mm in diameter, with its case and bracelet made of Rolex’s coveted 904L steel that wears akin to a precious metal on the wrist. One hundred metres of water resistance with a Twinlock crown, you can dive into the ocean with confidence that your watch will survive the summer day. Our very own Operations Manager Matthew Pickering recently purchased a 214270 from Bob’s; you can hear about his full experience here. Retail Price: $6550 USD. Bob’s Watches Price: $6795 USD – Available for purchase here.
Rolex Yacht-Master 37 268261
While stainless steel is all the rage, some of us like to inject a little unexpected flair into our collections. A tasteful two-tone watch, the Yacht-Master 37 268261 is a great offering for those who want a stellar blend of sport and elegance. The Yacht-Master is known to be the more classy sibling to the Submariner, quite literally more appropriate in aesthetic for yacht wear. The Yacht-Master 37 268261 separates itself from the Submariner line with a precious Everose gold bezel and its classic 37mm profile that incorporates the traditional tapered lugs of older Rolex models. While it is listed as offering 100 metres of water resistance, the Yacht-Master 37 actually boasts a Triplock crown – so you can rest easy knowing it is a very secure 100-metre depth rating. With its Easylink adjustment clasp, you’ll be able to tailor the watch to your wrist – with 5mm of quick adjustment found in five notches of 1mm. Retail Price: $13,150 USD. Bob’s Watches Price: $12,495 USD – Available for purchase here.
Rolex Milgauss 116400GV Black
Known as the Physician’s or Doctor’s Rolex, the Milgauss has earned a reputation as a reliable timekeeper due to its highly anti-magnetic build. While a professional watch within the lineup, it has a formal appearance, with finishings more in line with a Datejust than a fully satin-polished Submariner or Explorer. They are the only Rolex models to use coloured sapphire crystals, and the 116400GV example above utilises a green crystal to provide a fun tint to the black dial. The watch also features – unusual for Rolex – orange markers at three, six and nine, plus the Milgauss signature lighting bolt central seconds hand. Retail Price: $8300 USD. Bob’s Watches Price: $7995 USD – Available for purchase here.
Rolex Daytona Everose 116505
When doing my research to put this list together, it really shocked me that the Rolex Daytona Everose 116505 was so close to retail pricing – especially in its condition above. It may not be the more elusive stainless-steel model with a ceramic bezel, but any Daytona is rather hard to come by these days. This 116505 features a black dial with Everose sub-dials for its chronograph registers. As a modern Rolex model, it has the added bonus of Easylink extension within the bracelet – allowing the wearer to quickly adjust the size of the bracelet on the fly, up to 5mm in length. Retail Price: $39,350 USD. Bob’s Watches Price: $39,495 USD – Available for purchase here.
Rolex Datejust 36 126200
But Zach, I really want a blue dial. Well then, here is some bright blue just for you! Like the Explorer, this Rolex Datejust 36 126200 is a total wrist chameleon, able to adapt to any wardrobe or environment. It is a quintessential watch for the brand, both in its classically proportioned 36mm case and in its iconic Datejust aesthetic. It is a fantastic blend of the past and present, with a vintage-like profile that under the hood boasts all the latest technology Rolex has to offer. You get a full 70 hours of power reserve thanks to the modern caliber 3235 – with Chronergy escapement and Parachrom hairspring. You also have the Easylink extension that provides the wearer up to 5mm of quick adjustment to get the perfect fit. Retail Price: $7050 USD. Bob’s Watches Price: $7695 USD – Available for purchase here.
