Celebrity watch endorsement is a double-edged sword. On one hand, the Omega Seamaster on your wrist might give you that little pang of excitement as you think of James Bond wearing the same watch, while on the other it’s easy to be cynical about the whole exercise. You want to be like your hero, but only if they chose to be that way. Does David Beckham really love Tudor? Of course, it’s a great brand who make very nice watches, but what might the David Beckham watch collection look like if he wasn’t paid by them? We can’t know for certain without taking a peek into his watch drawer, but we can take a guess by looking at the watches his son Romeo wears. 

The Beckham family is a sporty one and you can see this in the watches Romeo wears. While the 18-year-old might not be the same athlete that his father was – Beckham senior won 19 major soccer trophies and played for 115 games for England – Romeo has certainly inherited his parents’ good looks and has already landed magazine covers and modelling campaigns.  So what are the pieces he’s worn the most over the last year or so? Here are a few of his favourites. 

Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref. 5164A

Romeo’s Aquanaut is a very solid choice straight off the bat. He’s an active guy, who probably doesn’t love wearing watches on leather straps and the Aquanaut is a collection for those who love fine watchmaking but also enjoy working up a sweat. This specific reference is the 5164A, which makes sense for a young man who is always on the go. 

Rolex GMT Master-II Ref. 126710BLRO “Pepsi” 

There probably aren’t many better “all rounder” watches on the market right now than the modern Rolex Pepsi. The 40mm case size is comfortable, especially on the famed jubilee bracelet, while also being able to handle anything you’re ever likely to do while wearing it. Coming from the big brother brand of his father’s sponsor probably helped Romeo secure one of these white-hot watches. 

Rolex SeaDweller Deepsea Ref. 126660

This hardcore diving watch is another cluey addition to Romeo’s watch collection, albeit a big watch for a skinny teenager. Rated to 12,800ft of water resistance, it’s more than you’re likely to ever need in a tennis vest.

Tudor Pelagos Blue

If you thought Tudor wasn’t making this list at all, think again, because when it comes to the Beckham family – like father, like son. The Pelagos is a more youthful dive watch that suits Romeo nicely, perfect for summer beach action.
