Take a tour of British Watchmakers’ Day 2025

Russell Sheldrake

British Watchmakers’ Day is quickly becoming a date to have circled in the calendar here in London, with its second instalment living up to the hype created by its debut last year. With more brands joining the fray and other exhibitors (including ourselves here at Time+Tide) adding to the fun, this year we got to see more watches and experience more of what the British industry has to offer than ever before.

Despite the large crowds and neverending queues at British Watchmakers’ Day, we know that not everyone who wants to attend is able to. The capacity of the venue still limits the tickets, and so we wanted to make sure that anyone who wanted to know what it was like inside Lindley Hall could get a sense of the controlled chaos that has become a defining feature of this event. So our trusted cameraman Pavol and I went around to as many brands as we possibly could to find out what they had on display, what they had for sale, and what the fair has been like for them during this sequel fair.

Whether it was the big established names like Mike France of Christopher Ward and Nicholas Bowman-Scargill at Fears or the young up-and-comers like Matteo Violet-Vianello at Anoma, we wanted to speak to everyone and show the incredible variety that was on display. It was clear that the big story of the day was the Fears x Studio Underd0g Gimlet, which caused just as much mayhem as our Studio Underd0g “pizza watch” did last year. But that didn’t mean there weren’t queues and crowds elsewhere, whether they were clamouring to get a coffee from Bark & Jack or desperate for a doughnut from our stand, there was excitement around every corner this year with the queue starting to form outside at 5 am with people flying from all around the world just to make it to this unique showcase. And now we are only left with memories and the hopes of next year’s show. Bring on March 7th, 2026!
