The reaction to the TAG Heuer Autavia re-release was hardly a slow-burn. The curtain was drawn back at Baselworld 2017, people cheered, and frankly, the applause has kept going. And going. For 18-months and counting.

Buyers will receive the TAG Heuer Autavia with both camel strap and steel bracelet, as well as a ‘Collector’s Pack’ of  Time+Tide premium accessories all for standard RRP of $7050. Not to mention an invitation to an event you’ll want to be at …

The extended encore is not just to do with those perfect Panda proportions, it’s also on account of the four (!) major limited editions of the Autavia re-edition that have dropped since. They are the long-awaited Calibre 11 ‘Jo Siffert Collector’s Edition’, limited to 100 pieces and sold out within a matter of hours, the warm tobacco tones of the Dubai Watch Week edition, the Hodinkee ‘Orange Boy’ and the Jack Heuer Birthday edition.

Needless to say, if we were going to do a ‘Collector’s Pack’ to augment the sale of a watch it would have to be this one. And we’re coming to the party. For the standard selling price, $7050, we are also including:

  • An official TAG Heuer camel strap as well as the TAG Heuer steel ‘beads of rice’ bracelet
  • A premium Time+Tide two-watch box in black Tuscan calf leather (RRP $360)
  • A Time+Tide watch tool in leather case (RRP $65)
  • ‘Autavia – Story of an Icon’ hard cover book
  • Please note that this offer is only open to Australian residents. There will be global offers later in the year, we promise.

Every purchaser also receives an exclusive ticket (with +1) to a five course degustation lunch at Siglo (Melbourne), held in early August, co-hosted by Time+Tide and TAG Heuer, with the guest speaker to be David Chalmers, who will speak candidly about what it was like to launch one of the most successful limited editions in recent TAG Heuer history. David is the founder of Calibre 11, and was the man behind the phenomenon that was the ‘Jo Siffert Collector’s Edition’ – with all 100 pieces selling in a matter of hours. David will be reveal the inspiriation behind his limited edition Autavia and the process of getting the watches made.

Why are we doing this and why did we choose the standard edition of the Autavia to offer the Collector’s Pack with?

  1. The opaline black dial with creamy indices is the OG Autavia. Personally, I own the Calibre 11 Jo Siffert, and while I’m all about the crisp, arctic fresh colour scheme of bright white dial and lurid pips of blue, there’s something about the matte black and cream indices that captures the era the original Autavia was created for: the glory days of dramatic, dangerous, infinitely more masculine than now automotive racing. In the same way that Omega Speedmaster Limited Editions create an even more intense halo around the OG Speedy, so too have all the new Autavia LEs had the effect of making the original look, somehow, even better.

  1. The Heuer-02 movement is new legacy TAG Heuer. Originally named the CH80, the Heuer-02 powering the Autavia is a manufacture chronograph movement and one of the best on the market right now.

  1. The TAG Heuer Autavia Calibre Heuer-02 is the brand’s new heritage hero. In the same way that the Heuer-01 has broadened its shoulders to carry many of the latest and most futuristic designs, the Autavia is proving to do the same for the heritage pillar of TAG Heuer’s releases.
