Andrew’s escape to Switzerland to visit Longines

Andrew McUtchen

This video was never scheduled to happen. However, waking up on a crisp Saturday morning in Neuchatel with Marcus our Creative Director and video master on hand, I could not resist dragging him out of his room and into the fresh Swiss weekend atmosphere.

The mission was really just to recap what we had done the day before on a road trip to Saint Imier, the home of Longines. This was not our first rodeo to this beautiful and remote part of Switzerland. We had, in fact, visited several years ago to shoot a series that I believe may, like Van Gogh artworks, at some future time be considered a classic if not just for its name. And that name – prepare yourself – is the Longines Time Machine.

But we were not here in 2021 to rake through the archives, we were here to explore in the metal our favourite recent Longines releases. As always, there were new discoveries and plenty of surprises. Not all of them are captured in this video – this is the trailer version of what will be a much more comprehensive breakdown of each of these for collections.

In the meantime, this little blast of a Swiss marketplace on a Saturday morning with one very overexcited Australian can hopefully serve as a preamble.
