Andrew Morgan teaches us the secret to voiceovers in the latest episode of Watches And…….
Russell SheldrakeIn our new episode of Watches And, we are very excited to be joined by the best voice in the watch industry, Andrew Morgan. The man who has been compared to David Attenborough for his work as the Talking Hands of Watchfinder graces us with his silky smooth tones to talk all things watches and storytelling.
While Morgan’s voice may be his most recognisable trait, we believe it is his ability as a storyteller that truly sets him apart from the rest. So we get into what makes a Morgan review so different, and while we may compare him to Attenborough, he likes to draw inspiration from another giant of British television, Jeremy Clarkson. As he draws on his own life experiences to help give a watch context, you never feel like Morgan is simply reading off a list of stats, but telling you how this watch builds a story.
Morgan gives us a look behind the curtain, telling us exactly how he’s able to craft stories and the favourite stories he’s found in the industry so far. In what is unsurprisingly our longest podcast yet, the two Andrews talk at length about the mechanics that go into dissecting a brand’s press release, their shared passion for unearthing untold histories, and the torture of constantly checking traffic figures.
While Morgan may have found his footing in the industry through his work at WatchFinder, he has now stepped out from the second-hand dealer’s shadow and launched his own channel. Blazing his own trail, Morgan has very much been set free to mould and shape stories and narratives exactly how he sees fit – even going to the lengths of making his own collaborative limited editions.
You can listen to the full interview now on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, where you will also be able to find our previous episodes with sports stars, Usain Bolt and Ada Hegerberg, and car culture icon Mai Ikuzawa.
