EXCLUSIVE: Watch the Jack Heuer Film- “The Times of My Life”

Hamish Erskine

Jack Heuer is without doubt one of the true living legends of the Swiss watch industry. He began running Heuer, now known as TAG Heuer, in 1962 and during his time introduced every Heuer model we now regard as iconic. Carrera, Monaco, Silverstone, Monza and Chronosplit? All Jack’s watches. TAG Heuer 1000, Montreal, Autavia and Camaro? Yes, those too.

And it’s a legacy that lives on today, with the final watch he introduced at Heuer still featuring today in the TAG Heuer range- the Aquaracer.

Earlier this year Jack Heuer released his autobiography, the excellent “Times of My life“, which you can download from our good friends over at Calibre 11. It’s a no-hold-barred look at Jack’s life, and he doesn’t pull any punches talking candidly about his pain and anger when he was forced out of family business in 1982.

He spent the next dozen years in a self-imposed exile from watchmaking, but went about building a highly successful career in the electronics industry, before returning to TAG Heuer as Honorary Chairman in the early 2000s.

To complement the book, TAG Heuer has made an inspiring 17-minute film of Jack Heuer’s story, which has its premiere in a few hours time at the leading watch exhibition in the UK, London’s Salon QP.

But if you don’t live in London, or you do but didn’t get invited, we’ve got you covered. Thanks to TAG Heuer UK and together with Calibre 11, we will be showing the film here at the same time as the curtains part in London.
